He's actually one of the best. I'd take him over Millard and Duthie, every day.
- Unholy_Goalie

No fack him...and millard.

Duthie is fine

No he doesnt owe any money.
- Fakepartofme

His salary is 1.1 million so he'll lose 25% of that.

What? The money he loses is from not playing games. I don't think he has to pay out of his pocket unless there's a fine he has to pay and those are usually pocket change fines.
- Unholy_Goalie

Actually it's true, since the majority of his first year was lumped into a signing bonus, Wilson will have to cut a check to the NHL. So glorious. Someone needs to record him signing that check.

Millard is the worst but Duthie isn't too far away. Looks like a mannequin you see at the mall with make-up on and talks like one would too.

I call it a fine. Whatever. He still pays it into a NHLPA assistance program I read. Can't remember the full title.

Don't argue semantics!

According to who? I think they got lazy on TSN and just took 25% of his cap hit. It doesn't make sense that they can go after his signing bonus but it depends on the language on the CBA and might be something they could fight. His salary should be the only part he loses which would be 25% of 1.1 million.

First puck drop isn’t one that starts the game, it’s the one done after a goal. Matthews from Ennis at 20:00.

What you have to realize is 25% is based off actual salary for the year, no matter how the player receives his payments. Signing bonus is no different and doesn't get the "doesn't count because we slipped it under the table". 25% of 6.1 million.

Favorite part of opening night is the 48th Highlanders 'The Maple Leaf Forever'.

I would love to see that open every home playoff game - make it something like a TML version of Liverpool FC with 'You'll Never Walk Alone'.

That's the source I was looking for.

It's pretty poopty that they can take away part of his signing bonus.

According to who though, what's the source? Because how could they go back and take money back from him that he's already been paid? The reason he misses out on 25% of his salary is because he's missing games, the only money he should be losing is that money from his salary that he gets paid to play games. That's why a signing bonus is a signing bonus and the salary is the salary. At least, that's the way it should be. If he has to give up his signing bonus money, the CBA is a little unfair in that regard and it boils down to the wording of the CBA so that's why I'm asking, where in the CBA or what source has found the wording that confirms this?
