Very.

The Leafs did not deserve to win that game the way they just took it easy most of the night but their high end talent just executed at crucial times. The Habs are a bad team with Price. There's no reason they should have outplayed and outshot the Leafs on the road.

There are teams in this league that win because of hard work and limited talent and teams that win in this league because of talent and limited hard work, but the championship winning teams are the talented teams that work hard. The Leafs have the talent but they really need to step it up in the effort department and start controlling games.

The Randy Carlyle Leafs 2.0 😍

I tells you what though. JT will be the Captain. The look he had after the Polak giveaway with 10 seconds left in the period spoke more than words ever could.

Pretty lousy effort for sure. Maybe they didn't take the Habs seriously enough? Hopefully some of them feel embarrassed and Babs points out all their mistakes. They're definitely capable of much better.

It's not just one game, they did this all of last year and the year before that. This team is very talented but they do not control the games. They sit back, get rolled on and if the goalie doesn't give up 5 goals, they'll score 3 or 4 and win. It's a bad, bad habit. It bites you in the ass in the playoffs. I think this is why Babcock is so insistent on playing the "grit" players like Hyman and Komarov etc. because he wants this team to adopt a blue collar work ethic and they're just not getting it.

Home openers are always messy, especially if you start the season at home. I'm hoping that's the reason anyways...

I've never heard of this reasoning but I like it. Let's go with that.

Haha. I wouldn't mind if you just did us in 6 games or even all through game 7s.

But no, you always let us play along for 6 2/3 games.

Wow what a win.. Good thing with leaf snipers they just need one shot to score because they worked hard that entire third period and most of the game, especially the last half of the first period. 2 goals for Matthews and 1 for Tavares and they were both pretty much invincible. Gonna be a rude awakening for other teams when they go toe toe with teams that can actually score goals as well. Good ol schedule makers give them teams like Ottawa and Montreal to start every year. First 6 leaf games of the year are in October and against teams that didn't make the playoffs last year - wonder why the Oilers weren't part of those first 6? Make sure they get a nice head start. God I hate that the leafs are good and everything about a winning team.

Ya but Boston went to the 2nd round and they just got smoked 7-0

Who cares, leafs won when they didn’t deserve to win. They’ll even it out when they get a couple games under their belt and start to mesh with each other.

It was a perfect game for the leafs imo. They didn’t lose and they know they need to get better.

What does Boston have to do with the price of tea in China? Yeah, they lost to Washington, a team that owns them. They need to play better too. What does that have to do with the Leafs lousy effort?

If that's your definition of a perfect game for the Leafs, your definition of perfect is very, very poor.
