So how do we work a Tanev for Nylander trade?

Forgive me everyone on these boards for possibly kicking a dead horse.....

But I come on here once every 2 months it seems

Its a interesting thought anyway. Wonder what it would take to get done

I'm going to go ahead and say no there.

Our defense is the most porous part of the team. I think this draft we add another top flight forward. Its the D that needs work so why trade away our most steady guy?

Its completely hypothetical, but depending on the addition on the Canucks end, I would 100% trade Tanev + (depends) for the rights to Nylander and his impending (sounds like 8million AAV) contract.

Not saying that I wouldnt be happy to trade for Nylander but I think it makes the team weaker overall.....unless JB can trade another piece for a RHD.....

I really liked watching Pettersson display his offensive talent last night, brought me hope and a smile.

Doesn't mean I didn't notice they were outplayed five on five and they played against a poopty goaltender and ours was really good, still a damn great night!!

They were hanging on by a thread last night in the third but I still enjoyed the moment. It did change my 2-8 prediction to a 3 - 7 prediction now though.

You have a really young team and it is going to take time. The first line was invisible last night . When they get going it will add another level.

I will enjoy evety goal and every victory though no matter how few.

at the same time. I am pretty sure Nylander owns an Xbox One, so I don't think we would pass his pre-requisites before signing.

it absolutely makes the team weaker overall but that's only in the short term.

tanev is a declining asset in my opinion and if you can get as high a return as nylander (i would think the canucks have to add), you absolutely do it.

going forward, if you need, you can trade some of the offense. i think that would be easier than waiting for the absolute right deal for tanev (while hoping he doesn't get injured).

Never looked it it that way, thats a good point....

Trading offense for defense never worked out so well for Edmonton tho

Good morning,

My enthusiasm is cautious—and probably short-lived. But it was a pretty fun night at the old barn last night. Thanks, Elias!

No...Bo had a few moments but other than that Boeser and Baertchi were invisible. It will come.

Two nice passes and a excellent read on a defensive play but thats not what we are looking for from him... agreed.
