You can see Canucks will need two shut down lines this year . Motte over 21 minutes last night. - VANTEL
7 minutes of PK time. 4 forwards with over 6 minutes.
Take a few less penalties. |

The inexperience of this team will lead to a lot of chasing. Count on the penalties for a while. |

For all of those wondering, 9 forwards last night, were 25 years old or younger. - Reubenkincade
The young team everyone in here wanted... It's here now.

Gudbransen played probably his best game as a Canuck. - thundachunk
he absolutely did. I actually don't mind his post game comments on the Dube hit either. I have never been sold on Gudbranson, and frankly have never really liked him or his play, but he played very well last night. I also noticed he was super poised with the puck in his end under pressure. He didn't ice it once. He was always looking up, dishing to his D partner for quick ups. He impressed me for sure. |

the entire fanbase forgets that Sutter/Dorsett/Granlund shut down McDavid last year in the first game of the season, while the rest of the team put up a very similar effort to what the team did last night. Very same vibes in here last night as we did after opening nights game last year. We still had a piss poor team.
However, and having said that.
Doesn't mean we can't acknowledge a few very good things last night:
Motte was excellent
Pettersson played under 10 minutes, and was noticeable on nearly every shift
If Pettersson can put some lead in LE's pencil, we might just get about 3million worth of that 6 million contract finally.
Gudbranson didn't ice the puck.... once.. |

all I care about is a good team effort, and exciting hockey. I think most of us can say that they delivered both last night |

that was a game he showed the player that the canucks traded for. let's hope he can keep it up and i'll gladly eat my words about him.
can you imagine EP and quinn hughes on the pp together? imagine 3 on 3 overtime... |

Gudbranson has never really showed any consistency while wearing a Canuck uniform. He has always shown that 1 out of every X amount of games, why he was chosen in the 1st round, so it will be interesting to see how he does moving forward. |

it's like my golf game: i hit a brilliant shot a couple/few times a round.
it's those shots that convince me that i'm a great golfer who's inconsistent rather than a lousy golfer who hits the occasional brilliant shot.
but one of these days, i'm gonna put a tiger-like 18 holes together.... i'm due! |

I can identify with this 100%!
I believe I am capable, if everything goes right, of shooting par on any hole anywhere in the world. But back to back holes? No chance |

Well, three of them are anyways, last night was fun but I wouldn't be expecting that most nights. Like it was just mentioned, team speed and the growth of important young player is what most want to see.
The good young team is still some years away. |

The wins are probably going to come few and far between this season. Be nice to enjoy a win without certain people trying to bring others down to their level of depression all the time. |

I had to look this up but I just saw a sign the other day that said this:
"Golf can best be defined
as an endless series of tragedies
obscured by the occasional miracle"
One of my buddies said you could replace the word golf with Jim Benning and it still works lol. |

Haven't seen anyone purposely trying to bring anyone down? Some just see the team from their perspective for what it probably is and don't get too high or too low. |
