Not true, if either go on waivers again the Leafs can claim them back and assign directly to marlies if no other team made a claim. Happened with Seth Griffith a few years back
- Garth_Mctavish

According to Bob MacKenzie this is what will most likely happen.

You can take it as a joke if you want, but I wouldn't trade you Neuvirth for Sparks straight up.
- Glak18

I understand.

With Neuvirth, you know what to expect. He sucks. While Sparks might turn out decent... can't live with kind of uncertainty in net!

Odds are they will get one of these two back. When darling is healthy Mac will go on waivers, leafs can claim him and assign directly to AHL (unless another teams puts in a claim). Same with Pickard when Neuvirth is back.
- Garth_Mctavish

Correct. This might have even been discussed before hand.

That was brilliant. Instead of just trading McBackup, Sparks, or Pikard to get something, we lose both and get nothing. Worse we have utterly no safety net for injuries now. Just great.

I know your concern about the backup situation. However, you guys have been waiting for a team like this for years. Embrace it. Enjoy it.

Can you guys not reach your potential this season, please? My non existent dignity is relying on getting at least one of Wedgies stupid prediction questions right.

Nothing can beat my predictions from last year so this year I tried to temper my expectations.

Also I copied the text before Wedgie corrected Lou's offseason move to Dobas/Shanahon but I'm lazy so I kept it

I still remember when Tokarski and / or Fucale were going to take the starting job from Price(Habs fans thought). I still find that funny too. Haha

Seriously though, this doesn't matter at all

- Archaic

I don't know about that but I do recall telling people the Canadiens should have traded Tokarski after he had that great stretch of games. I was told it was dumb cause he was the back up for years to come.

Kadri suspended 24 games

Tom Wilson, gets a 1,800 fine.

O Dog said he should get nothing, it was a clean hit.

TSN has an article about Nylander being offer sheeted. Do any of you think he'd sign one? If say it's what his "asking" price of 8 million per on a 5+ year deal does Toronto even match or just say "thanks for the picks" and walk away?

It's eerily similar to the hit Kadri put on one of the Sedin's some time back. Got a shot/pass off and then blindside.

If all we have to complain about is losing backup goalies, we should count ourselves lucky.

Or we can bring back JFJ? Burke? Nonis?

Actually Neuvirth plays well when he is not injured, which doesn't happen often. Sparkles on the other hand has the potential to reach Justin Pogge status.

I guess some people thought he had a better chance at being a future backup then Peter (frank)ing Budaj.

Turns out... both sucked.

Peter Budaj went on to play several more seasons and killed it in L.A. when Quick was injured before being traded to Tampa

I like how Pogge was drafted 14 YEARS ago and he still takes the heat in here. Ruthless..

Can't wait to see how Kaskisuo does with the marlies. Always thought this kid had potential, maybe now he can grow as a player.
