lol I tried to put the whole thing to rest pages and pages ago with Booner. We were in agreeance over Gagner being waived, and it somehow turned into "false narratives" and "assertions" and a bunch of other crap. I stopped caring about it a long time ago. - Codes1087
I was simply arguing that Benning didnt care much about the 3 year term since he could dump it. True that the argument I presented may have had a couple of extra moving parts but thats the way these things go anyways.
You misquoted "false narrative". That is an assertion.
...and assertion and narratives are not nasty shots...
Reality Checker was intent on it getting nasty no one else. The fact that he was up on his soap box immediately after his shots got a response and crying about booner in the past(non hockey) pretty much says it all. I was talking entirely about hockey and there was no need to rewrite what I said over and over.

crying about booner in the past? booner, you calling people "liars" and accusing people of being on glue are ad hominem attacks. you did that today. when you get called out for it, you become emotional.

Free Agents visiting from other cities always ask me why Vancouver doesn’t have @Uber or @lyft to get to the airport after we are going to waive them. Good question. What’s the answer?

Virtanen should be on the second line and be told to bring the heavy game, protect Pettersen and Goldie - yes! he should learn to drop the mitts too!
Ohhh but no! We have to play defense all the time - like that is working. Get back or you will be benched....Except if you are Loui Eriksson then you can do whatever you like. And if you are Pouliot you can just generally float around like figure skater. At least Gagner is gone. He was a bad signing.

LE is actually a pretty decent back-checker. I don't mind his defensive game at all. Virtanen may not be given more of an offensive opportunity playing with Sutter, but I imagine his minutes will still be high.
Do I think Jim made a mistake with Gagne ? More than likely but the other side of it is Gagne was brought in here as a stop gap to give time so you didn't have to rush prospects .
Drafted prospect EP is showing right out of the gate this year that he is better that SG and better than what anyone expected. In my books that is a good thing for Canucks.
Traded for Motte and and Goldobin have also passed Gagne and again I look at it as a good thing.
Gagne will probably be bought out at the start of next year and cost the Canucks 1.066 Mil for 2019 /20. Big deal.
I look at it as 3 young players passing the stop gap and Benning keeping his promise. I still think Jim gets canned next year but he actually did good on this transaction.
