He's a little bit of insurance on the PK in case Oz can't handle it and a role where I think he'd actually be ok with that big stick of his ( ) and his knack for lobbing grenades up the boards onto the opposition's stick.

Carrick would have still come with a cap hit even after waiving him, so they were trying to dump his extra salary. When they send Marinpoop down(and they will eventually) there will be no cap hit.
