i dont get the one eye thing.. benning could have also had one eye on his cap situation and gave gagner the same money on less term with the option to resign him for additional seasons if prospects needed more time or gagner was a good fit. the money is sunk now and im glad they waived him but lets not pretend this was anything but a last resort move for jimbo

In what world do you just decide the other players salary and term? Weird...

what kind of question is this? they agreed on 3 years $9.45 million, you think gagner would then turn down that same 9.45 on a 2 year term?

Why are you so certain 2 or 1 year was never discussed and between agent and Benning???? That is pretty arrogant. Do have transcripts of their negotiations to show us? I may assume the obvious but who assumes something like that?

Picking sober makes me a bad manager

Maybe that’s my problem too.
I’ll have to change that asap 😂

Gagner was 6th on the team in scoring last season. 31 points for 3.1 million is the bench mark 100,000 per point.

He was signed for the power play and now he is not needed.

Torts> Green.

Let’s be honest, Gagner is still a better NHL hockey player than Goldobin, Leipsic, Virtanen and Motte put together, and that was painful for me to type because I didn’t like the signing to begin with.

I have a new found respect(though small) for Benning.

Utica is going to run into some serious veteran limit problems next year when Beagle and Roussel are assigned.
