I would have liked to have seen the team short term with depth forward UFA's and then let them all battle it out. Gaunce hasn't impressed this pre-season, that's on him.


I was hoping for 2 year deals max this summer, so the Schaller deal would only fit my criteria. I like Roussel the best out of the 3 but would've passed on 4 years for him.

I would have targeted 2 of these guys to go along with Schaller:

Brodziak
Rieder
Czarnik
Peca
Armia (cap dump, take on Mason and waive him or Nilsson)

I don't know why it would have to be the Leafs ? I will be very disappointed if they don't trade him, even if they bring him back next year

Honestly....I want him back. Our D is just so so so bad. We need at least one veteran top 4 next year. Hughes will be our best dman followed by? Gudbranson? Stecher? That’s just too terrible

I think at the TDL Edler Tanev MDZ Sven Sutter should all be traded . You can bring back Edler but get that pick for him . There are some good D UFA next year including Karlsson and if you draft Jack Hughes (not my choice) in the summer you may want to throw a contract offer his way
