I know it's pre-season but this is very bad.

30 wins this season, if everything goes right. We're looking at 73-82 pts range.

Let's be realistic guys. We're not gonna sniff the playoffs at this rate.

We really need several things to happen to even make an epic run to 9th:

1.) Even average goaltending - I'm talking 2.50 GAA and .910 sv% and we can rely on the next few factors to fall into place:

2.) The defense NEEDS to score goals. We need at least 20 from our back-end that doesn't include Risto or Dahlin. That's 5 goals per guy. This can be accomplished.

3.) 75+ games from Eichel, Okposo, Skinner, Mittelstadt and Reinhart. That's 5 of our top-6 and we need all of them to have better seasons than last year. I'm expecting over 100 goals from these 5 alone combined

4.) We need a Rookie and a bottom-6 guy to each put up a 15g/15a type of season. E-Rod can do this if given proper ice-time and Nylander SHOULD get at least this much. Then we need a solid year from Girgensons and Larsson needs to just go away.

This team is going to be very polarizing this season. They WILL suck at home and they will be maddening one minute and exciting the next.

Feels like we really stopped the leaking after the 5th goal.

It's the Pens full team against rookies, Risto and Scandella. This game is less than meaningless.

Although its preseason, the "A" squad losses bother me a bit.

Getting outshot at home vs. Toronto wasn't good

I don't know, NHL preseason is even more meaningless than NFL preseason as far as results are concerned, it's much more about the individuals, and much like the NFL, the individuals fighting to make the team.

The biggest disappointment for me has been Guhle, he's not nearly strong enough on his skates to stand his ground yet and it's led directly to goals against. Thompson has been the biggest, for lack of a better word, surprise. He's not a burner, but he's not slow either, he uses his size well to protect and get the puck, his shot is amazing. I'd play him 17:00+ a night.

@ByMHarrington
Defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen took the morning skate in Buffalo and then did not attend the game, with Housley saying he was nursing a minor upper-body injury and could practice Thursday

2019-19 ... The Transistion Year.
Not expecting the playoffs, but significant improvement for sure...
with ups and downs along the way.

The team finally has depth...but they are young and will be inconsistent.
The old guys maybe steading influences, but are on the downside...who knows how much gas they have left in the tank.
It will be fun to watch the team develop and gel.

Im looking forward to it.

The fact that we're still talking about Pomminville heading into 2019 is bad. He isn't getting better at anything and old guys like him are going to force awful roster decisions to be made. At this stage the young guys should get most if not all the forward positions. The way contracts work in the NHL is awful. Once you're over 30 and you have ANY years on your contract you can just coast. Meanwhile hungrier, younger players get roadblocked from taking your job no matter how hard you work or how well you play in the preseason.

Aside from the 100+ goal line skinner - eichel - sam

I'm not impressed.
Preseason is a joke, but I'm was hoping to see mitts get going from the camps

And score a lot of goals vs. Ahl guys..

Neither happened

Pommer had 81 points in the last 160 games. Some of those games were on the 4th line of the 31st place team.

1/2 point a game guy.

Bailey is holding bailey back
Baptiste is holding baptiste back

Pommer isnt. I'm Expecting 35 points and 15 goals
