Yup. Were already seeing signs of growing pains watching Boeser squeeze the stick a bit. It's fine, going to be a fun power play but a lot of losses with the D/goalies we have. If were lucky, some older guys play well/are healthy enough to get dealt. Hoping to see a lot of call ups too, I'll be looking for those Utica lifestreams this year - neem55

This has always been my view of this team. It was the best team in the league for 3-4 years (arguably on paper anyway). We just didn't quite get there. Management tried to hold on when the window shut, which hurt us but were back on track. But yeah, the team this year is a bottom 5 one IMO. Can you imagine if Bo, Sutter or Boeser got injured?! I mean I already assume Tanev and/or Edler will, but that would hurt. Cool this about injuries this year as opposed to any other year is that Utica is chalked full. |

I read somewhere, I'll have to try and find it, that the success rate of first rounders who were traded by the team that drafted them is very low.
I think it was reviewing the Patches trade in reference to Suzuki. The author listed all the first rounders traded recently and the only player that went on to be very successful was Forsberg iirc.
The main premise being that the drafting team will of had a really good opportunity to get to know that prospect and if they are willing to let them go, there is a good chance they have some significant flaws.
Edit.
It was an Athletic article so apologies to any non-subscrbers.

Yup in store for a long season indeed.
Injuries always show our depth weakness.
Its a growing season for the next wave to improve & show they belong. I expect many ups & downs but hoping to see progress. |

Not enough time. Work days are 10-12hrs.
Between getting back to my room & a shower & eating iβve maybe 2hrs left. Basically jobs are 2 weeks in duration & i just lump it. Some locations wifi outright sucks. |

Good thing you missed the β70βs & β80βs. There wasnβt much good other than β82 & the Gradin Smyl Fraser line. - Nighthawk
They were fun to watch. Less fun when Semenko rag dolled Stan, and Gretz & Kurri lit up the scoreboard, of course. Even the Kurtenback & Talon era that preceded them, which were expansion-team bad (pre-Vegas rules!) were fun, because they were ours and we were free to cheer for a team other than Leafs or Habs

Now youre being a drama queen. If you cant take the civil discussions on these boards without eluding to people whining, then you shouldnt be here. I come here because everyone here brings substance, with a good decent hockey knowledge and background of the team. Its not gang mentality, its not over the top whining, its people who dont share your opinion, so get over it - Codes1087
Codes in dad mode is an interesting change. I think I like it. |

haha that's pretty sweet. Some of those train rides are so long, makes a lot of sense. Japan probably has free wifi on trains too because they are crazy like that.

.@botchford: I'm convinced if you made all the #Canucks defense free agents, Del Zotto would be on a PTO, Pouliot on a PTO, and Hutton would have signed a 1-year, last-chance, min-wage deal. And Gudbranson probably should be on a PTO, but he fits a skill set the NHL still chases

.@rayferrarotsn: No matter what they say about internal competition and their prospect pool is better than it's been...the fact of the matter is, they're not very good. The same defense comes back. Is that good? Not really. They lose the Sedins. Who's going to score for them?

This is exactly what we've been kicking around on here, same d and goalies and expect a different result is the definition of insanity. Pacific got better too, were going to be a doormat for a lot of pacific teams. .500 record against 3 team pacific teams would be a win IMO |

Ya, he's a twat, but ain't wrong on that. Tanev, Edler, and Guddy would have contracts, Stretcher, MDZ, and Biega on one years as 7s, and Pouliot and Hutton on PTOs. |
