Lines for the #Canucks at practice:

Goldobin-Horvat-Boeser
Leipsic-Pettersson-Eriksson
Gagner-Sutter-Motte
Schaller-Beagle-Virtanen
(Granlund, Archibald)

Edler-Stecher
Hutton-Tanev
Pouliot-Gudbranson
Del Zotto-Buega

-BB

Granlund and Archibald as extras is the right move as well.

The one thing i'll give Green props for this pre-season is the forward lines he's put together, he's giving the skilled guys a shot to play with other skilled players.

I remember when AV and WD would put a skilled young player with 4th line/AHL checkers during pre-season.

Excluding the 1970's, this year will be one of the worst seasons in franchise history. Just one of many.

It's stupid, do you want to see the Jets rock a thrashers jersey, or the coyotes rock a jets jersey this year.
- 1970vintage

were you opposed to the Vancouver Millionaires jersey? Essentially the same thing as what you claim above(re: jets). I remember watching the whalers, so the throwback is awesome. Atlanta was a failed expansion franchise, I really don't think they deserve any sort of throwback. Its 2 or 3 games man, I don't think its that big of a deal lol

It's not just about the points they scored though, they were terrible defensively despite the easy minutes, they bled goals against.

I honestly don't think guys like Gagner, EP, Eriksson, etc would do much worse, even if they put up less points, they'd have to be at least a little better defensively.

Agreed about Roussel, he's an agitator, not a guy who fights for teammates lol. But I miss being hated and he's a decent bottom 6 player so I wanted him

The Sedins had the puck a lot at even strength last year, which means they weren't chasing the game, 53.4% & 52.2% CF%, what worries me is now they'll be chasing the game/puck much more.

Also Pouliot-Gudbranson has the potential to be the next Sbisa-Bieksa, they might lead us to Hughes with the goals they'll allow.

I know +/- is a very flawed stat and frowned upon, but they and Pouliot were the worst on the team at -22 despite the offense and o-zone starts. That just shows how atrocious they were defensively.

Somehow Chris Tanev managed to be a +7 lol

A) totally different, the Millionares didn't move to Vancouver to become the Canucks, but I as neither for nor against.

2) Hartford is also a failed expansion franchise. Cool jersey or not. I've seen them live at the PC. 4-2 Whalers final.

They obviously had trouble keeping up but you know they still carried the puck a lot, with the current group there's not a lot of high possession guys, which means they'll be chasing the game a lot.

Six of one, half a dozen of another.

On a sad note, only the Sedins, Boucher and Leipsic had possession numbers great than 50% last year at even strength.

My point was, the Millionaires and the Canucks have zero affiliation. We still repped their jerseys on more than one occasion. I just don't see it as a big deal, its 2 or 3 games, and its a nice throwback.

an interesting, yet useless stat that I just came across. The Canucks have led a game for a total of 2:51 seconds in all of the preseason combined. They have trailed for 161:30 in all the preseason games combined. Obviously its preseason, but a pretty funny fact regardless.
