You wouldn't keep Boq over Manning even if he is better than Manning right now, because you take into account where they are in their respective careers. Manning is what he is, Boq is on a development path to becoming something significant, unless you screw that up by playing him at a level he is not ready for yet and stunt his growth.
Many careers in hockey never became what they could have been by being rushed to the NHL. Boq is a slight guy too who has had concussion issues. - hereismike1
The past several blogs I've been saying send Boq down.
I compliment his play, but he needs to develop. Not nhl ready yet.
Saying he is better than manning doesn't say much, my attempt at a joke, sorry I threw it in. Manning, although he lost his fight, still stuck up for his teammates. Twice. I don't like him, but I respect him. I'm saying Q had him as a lock with poor play. Boq is given chance after chance even though he won't stick. |

I hear ya. As much as some might like to malign Q, at some point, decades of successful coaching experience might offer a bit sharper talent eye than us La-Z-Boy GMs will ever have.
And this is coming from a guy who wishes Q would redesign a scheme that plays to what he does and doesn't have today. - Return of the Roar
It comes with being a fan of a team that spoiled us. |

Anders Lee or Brock Nelson would look damn good playing with Toews or Kane in 2019 |

I wouldn't mind seeing them and you can throw in Duchene as well. |

Kampf has looked good. This guy is as strong on the puck and boards as any Blackhawk this season has been. He's tenacious, can skate, and can play the pivot.
Kahun has looked great too. As others have said, his game is a little bit of everything, but he looks good on his edges, with some hands and speed, but most importantly seems to think the game well.
Fortin can really motor, reminds me a bit of the departed Vinny but with better size. I think Fortin needs to battle more though.
The defense is.... or appears to be... a mess. |

This team clearly BLOWS . Goaltending was atrocious, Cam Ward never should have been signed especially for that ridiculous amount of money. I'd like to see boyquist make the team, if a veteran like Seabrook and Keith could get burned , then allow the youngster some space to grow and learn.

kunitz had a tickling match. And manning took one punch and fell down from witowski. Olyck made it sound like he was going up against tony twist or colton orr. The hawks desperately need someone who can actually fight. |

Haven't you heard, there is no fighting in hockey anymore. Way better to just play harder to win.

If we looked that bad against Detroit, predicted to be a bottom feeder, how will we fare against the better teams?
And, if Crawford comes back, is he going to be any better than what we have after spending almost a year on the sidelines? |

Watch the home opener against the Leafs. Should be a good test.

Boquist was a huge reason the Hawks PP was so effective last night. I am happy to eat my words from Draft Night (though I think Bouchard, Dobson and Wahlstrom will be really good players too), and say that this kid has the poise and skill to play the 9 game NHL tryout. His ability to command the point on the PowerPlay, making solid passes and GETTING HIS SHOT ON GOAL are why they were dangerous and had 2 goals. I'd like to see Jokiharju AND Boquist play in a game together. TBH I think Boquist has looked better. |

It’s not just rust that needs to be shaken off for 2 and 7.
This is who they are now. Slow, below average defenseman that will get routinely abused by opponents with speed. And the worst part is they’re supposed to be our top pairing/best 2 defenseman. Get used to it. |
