I don't get it either.. Tavares is ranked 16th on the TSN top 50. Personally, I think he should be rated higher than that.
- PatC80

The funny thing is, TSN last year had JT ranked 13th after a 66 point season with the Isles. But now he's suddenly "Overrated" being 16th after 84 points..

Someone is biased, but it ain't TSN....

They're playing their regulars. With a few players that haven't been cut yet.

For what it's worth.

Habs look much better than they did last season.

Doesn't make them a good team.

But they'll be less of a (frank)ing snorefest.

Agreed. I know we like the harp on you guys about your awful team. Just cause..

But to be honest, it's not all that bad. Not great but not terrible.

He's far more talented than Hyman

Hyman is only good at retrieving pucks, nothing more.

I wonder how many of the 31 NHL teams broadcast all of their preseason games.

I've not been around for a number of days, and I'm sure this conversation has been had . . . but ignoring his poor preseason results . . . when you WATCH Sparks play, do you think he looks like a good goalie?

I hate the way he's always down early on one knee. What type of style is that? Hybrid-hybrid? Remember when CuJo used to cheat away from the short side post to prepare for the cross-ice pass? Eventually he slowed down and everyone just picked off of the short side on him? That's what Sparks style looks like - exposed.

I know he may have been the top AHL goalie last year, but I don't think he's got the goods to be effective against NHL competition.

I was at the game on Monday night (at least the first two periods) and he looked like a flaming sack of poop.

I just can't see that style being effective against NHL competition who can rocket shots top shelf from the blue line, and with added traffic and deflections in front.

Maybe it's just me, but that's how *I* played net in adult house league - stick on the ice, one leg outstretched, down early . . . I did that because I'm not that good, but if I hedged my bets covering more of the high risk areas of the net, I could hope that I'd get the better of a poor shooter. An NHL calibre goalie shouldn't base their style on hedging.

I think it's already been determined. Three games left, Andersen is starting 2 and McElhinney is starting the other. This pre-season, Sparks has looked shaky and in the regular season every NHL player (Matt Martin included) will expose any weakness.. I expect Sparks to be the starting goalie for the Marlies again
