Maybe I have a vested interest in how Lindholm and Hanifin continue to develop and a healthy skepticism of Peters' abilities as a head coach based on 4 years of watching him with these players already.

Super jealous of the Canes Whalers jerseys! Those are slick!

The weirdest part to me was that they didn't interview anyone else for the job. Certainly Peters had better name recognition due to his international experience and working with Babcock, but surely they did SOME research into his coaching style, right?

Unless Treliving et al. all actually thought that the biggest issues with the Flames were personality based and not anything to do with the talent level or playing style of the team?

I think the thought was that Hartley was too hard on players and GG was a little to soft. I think they are hoping Peters' is that happy medium between players coac & hard-ass.

BT knew what kind of coach he wanted--GG implemented the type of system he wanted the Flames to play, he just couldn't squeeze enough out of the talent in the room.

Old man Gio is having a hell of a preseason! Let’s hope it continues into the season. Also like the look of Brodie so far, seems to have a little more swagger in his game.

As I said before, can’t think of a better back to back opponent to open the season. Flame have been annual slow starters for a while, maybe Peters can change that up.
