The weirdest part to me was that they didn't interview anyone else for the job. Certainly Peters had better name recognition due to his international experience and working with Babcock, but surely they did SOME research into his coaching style, right?
Unless Treliving et al. all actually thought that the biggest issues with the Flames were personality based and not anything to do with the talent level or playing style of the team?

I think the thought was that Hartley was too hard on players and GG was a little to soft. I think they are hoping Peters' is that happy medium between players coac & hard-ass.
BT knew what kind of coach he wanted--GG implemented the type of system he wanted the Flames to play, he just couldn't squeeze enough out of the talent in the room.
