Serious question...but could Flyers be proactive and cut ties with Lehtara as a breach of contract or conduct detrimental to the team? Or do they actually need to let it all play out? - J35Bacher
I don't think they can do it under suspicion. Even after Richards and Voynov were charged, the team had to suspend them and then had to come to mutual termination terms with Richards (Voynov was deported). They'd have to let it play out, but if he gets charged and convicted, I'm sure they'd be able to cut ties. |

Got my tix for tomorrow night. Taking my daughter, and the first thing she wanted to know is if we might get to see Gritty. Odin bless that furry orange maniac. - jmatchett383
I was thinking of heading down to meet Gritty, but I've felt a little tired and rundown lately.
Apropos of nothing, does anyone have Jori Lehtera's phone number?
TIA |

As was I, but the way people made it sound on here, they weren't allowed.
Edit: I was thinking Rookie Camp, not Development Camp. - jmatchett383
From my understanding, the main reason they don't pay their way for Rookie Camp has do to with the fact that they are usually in their own training camps for college, and classes have started. |

I could be wrong, but wasn't Richards cut prior to the charges? I'll google and get back. |

I just read up on it. They can attend development camp if they pay their way. However, to attend rookie camp, you either have to be under contract or a non-drafted player on an ATO (i.e. Myers). Since college players can't sign a contract, they can't attend rookie camp. |

I think you have to let it play out. He hasn't even been charged with a crime at this point.

so with Richards, they terminated his contract in June 2015. NHLPA filed a grievance, and they came to a undisclosed settlement. The Kings are paying him until 2031 (and it counts against the cap).
With Voynov, they didn't terminate the contract, but stopped paying him. And it does not count against the cap. |

He was demoted for poor play, but I think they didn't seek an out with him until after he was charged. |

So if Lehtera is charged/arrested does this finally end the debate of who won the Schenn trade? |

Maybe, perhaps Schenn is Lehtera's supplier.

I doubt that, as Schenn was billed as "The next Mike Richards." Clearly not a supplier. |

If I see him struggling when the games mean something then I'll be concerned. He's a veteran and pre season doesn't mean much. - MJL
Imho, if he's slacking off in pre-season that is a bad sign. If the sub-par performance is due to injury recovery issues, that is less concerning as long as the recovery will be 100%. |

We won the trade since Lehtera was actually the next Mike Richards all along |

Many established veterans "slack off" in the pre-season.
