Over the course of history in the NHL the list is long of veterans who haven't played well in the pre-season. That's not always an indicator of how a player is going to play during the season. I'm not going to rush to any judgement based on 4 periods of hockey played by a veteran goaltender. Neuvirth's inability to stay healthy is an issue due to Lyons being hurt and Stolarz coming off a year of not playing much.

McElhanny from the leafs could also be an okay stop gap since he only has one year left on his contract but I think pickard is the better goalie
