That. plus the person I was responding to indicated that they'd want Hagg sent down as opposed to Myers, which would require him going through waivers. But let's not actually read here or anything.

Would u keep Myers up yes or no? Is Myers Bette than Hägg in ur opinion?

Absolute Nutter. There's no reason for this, no reason for that. Hextall and the Flyers just don't know what they're doing! He's played in the pre-season, not in regular season NHL action.
- MJL

The only reason to send him down is if you think he will be better in January having played big minutes in all situations for 30 games (which I assume is the private argument). IMO, he has played well enough to be top5-6 on the depth chart.

Not sure if anyone mentioned it earlier. There’s a great article on the Flyers website, about Ghost, by Bill.

Missed the game last night. How did Elliott look? I'm concerned that he doesn't seem to be playing all that well so far. If he's struggling to provide solid tending, and with Lyon and neuvy out, we may not have a choice but to keep the kid up and see what he's got. I'd prefer for him to have a year in the a, but if he's the best option as of now, then he should be on the club.

From Bill's article on the Flyers website:

Gostisbehere did not attend the 2012 Draft in Pittsburgh. He sat on the couch at his family's home in Florida and watched the two-day Draft unfold on television. When he saw Philadelphia had just taken him with the 78th overall pick, he rejoiced.

"When I saw my name, I jumped off the couch. I mean, literally, I jumped off the couch," he said with a huge smile during his first 2012 Development Camp interview. "The Flyers are a team with so much history, so much going for it. I couldn't be prouder to put on the orange and black."

Lateral mobility would be my concern at this point.

Well that would be a big concern. If he's slow side to side he's going to get picked apart

Nutter is pessimistic about pretty much everything about the Flyers so I don't view him as a reliable source.

I'd think the core surgery could be a possible factor. Yes, it was a while ago, but he did get pressed into duty early in the spring so maybe he's not quite 100% there yet.

If I see him struggling when the games mean something then I'll be concerned. He's a veteran and pre season doesn't mean much.

Well if he's struggling when the games don't mean anything and against AHL level players (as was the case last night) then I'm not sure how I can believe he'll be better when he's playing against NHL players. And the losses then do matter. But tbh there's not really an alternative. I'm extremely worried this season is going to be capsized by bad goalie play

I believe he also had his hip cleaned/flushed, unless that’s part of the “core surgery.” I’m no doctor so I have no clue.

It may not be ideal but if the season truly is capsized by bad goalie play, we have the assets and prospects to make a play for a goalie. Not saying I’d prefer doing this but god forbid Elliott sustains a lengthy injury or just isn’t his last season self, we can make a trade. Assuming we don’t want to have Hart up just yet

Over the course of history in the NHL the list is long of veterans who haven't played well in the pre-season. That's not always an indicator of how a player is going to play during the season. I'm not going to rush to any judgement based on 4 periods of hockey played by a veteran goaltender. Neuvirth's inability to stay healthy is an issue due to Lyons being hurt and Stolarz coming off a year of not playing much.

Hagg up until his injury was an extremely solid nhl third pairing defenseman with great physicality and safe defensive plays. Myers has all the potential in the world but he was not elite this pre season. He was just good. Hagg entire body or work trumps Myers at this point. Long term Myers absolutely has higher potential.

Hart looks every bit the part but I get it hes starting AHL regardless. See ya in a year kid break murray record this year and win us a ship.

Still happy to see a lot of young guys at the nhl camp. I think twarynski and vorobyov especially have legit shots.
