Ha! No bet. You could very well be right. 3.25 large is a lot of scratch to absorb right now for many squads |

In Dave Hakstol's three seasons, he has had 96, 88 and 98 points, all with a roster that has been retooled, if not rebuilt, on the fly.
Maybe there was someonee else out there who could have gotten more out of them. I don't know, either way.
But I don't think so. I don't agree with every decision he makes, but I don't agree with every decision any coach makes.
That dude isn't a perfect coach. But he's a good coach, and if the goaltending doesn't screw them, they're getting 100 points - AllInForFlyers
agreed...the article also talks about how Hak was learning on the Fly. So it's not like you become a great NHL coach over night. Hopefully they take another step this year. Hextall has built a team that still has some holes, so he too must share in the mixed results the last few years. It's definitely heading in the right direction, talent wise, but to me this team should start to show some tangible results this year or both coach and GM should come under even more scrutiny. I would think the "re-tool" is almost complete. The Flyers have a pretty good mix of youth and experience.

I personally felt like he outplayed Hagg in the preseason |

Demoting Myers is one thing. If they also have Sanheim as the #7 for game 1 there's going to be an internet riot. |

Myers should be in the lineup over Hagg. I'm disappointed |

I mean, let's be honest about what he was facing, here -- they're already playing four defenders 25-under. He had to absolutely destroy Gudas to get that slot, because whatever we might think, they are comfortable with AMac, at least they were last year
Someone will get hurt, unfortunately. Someone always does. That'll be his shot, and he needs to be ready to make the most of it, because they will be watching closely

Yep absolutely no reason to question why Myers isn't given a chance over such established top notch NHL players such as Hagg |

So we have (pairs not set in stone):
Provorov/Gostisbehere
AMac-Gudas
Sanheim-Hagg
Folin
I'm very curious to hear what all 3 of Folin, Gudas, and Sanheim did better than Myers to earn their spots. |

They have to know that at some point, you gotta ride Sanheim out. Not saying it had to be last year. Or even Game 1. But at some point, you gotta play him heavy minutes and live with some of the mistakes of youth |

Unless they wanted to carry 8 dmen and only 13 forwards, keeping Myers up would mean waiving Folin, and I doubt Hextall wants to do that right away. |

Gudas has been better in preseason than MacDonald and Hagg. To give Mac credit he only had one bad game. Hagg has already had five. |

Exactly -- they do this all the time. Folin was brought in to be the No. 7. He will play a game or two, here or there. If someone is out for longer than that and Myers is strong at LHV, he's gonna get a shot
