Between boeser, hughes and pettersson, i dont think i remember feeling this excited about being a canuck fan.

The only down moment was the 100+ times Gagner screwed up a Pettersson play.

That's too bad , I thought Gagner might be a decent fit with EP.

They had very little chemistry.

He’d be better suited with Horvat or Sutter I guess.

I'd do Motte with Pettersson

I thought he was trash in his limited games last year
But he has been the canucks best player this pre-season.
His puck retreival is amazing.

Not a bad idea. I’d try it in one of the next 2 games. We just need a 3rd forward on EP’s line to forecheck, win puck battles and then get EP the puck.

I understand what you mean. I imagine green doesnt see point/merit testing chatfield and sautner with pp minutes when he knows they wont make the club. He knows what pouliot, edler and stecher bring, hes seen it all last year. That leaves tanev. I just dont think its as big of a deal i guess. Not worth getting upset about anyway
- Codes1087

Not upset. Its a friutiess waste of time. You practice like you play. Ok he knows what the others bring but he also knows Tanev brings less. That’s NB not Green who designs the PP.

When it comes to Gagner i never saw him as a mentor. I thought his signing was about adding offence & very little else. Him as a specialist can end anytime soon idc.
Motte &/or Leipsic are better options.

You've been saying this for awhile and I've agreed all summer. This guy is ridiculously skilled.

Boeser looks really rusty, handling then puck like a grenade, one timers are off, etc. Probably needs to adjust to his new weight, wouldn't be surprised if he has a slow start to the season.

EP's 5v5 game still needs more work but he's already our best PP player imo, he needs to shoot more on the PP though, teams are cheating toward Brock and giving him space.

EP is literally an alien. His vision is so exceptional it’s hard to describe. Yes, boeser is struggling a bit. But, it’s preseason so he likely doesn’t give a (frank)[url]

BB looks faster and stronger though, I feel its just a timing and chemistry issue, he's smart enough to figure it out quickly.

I agree with you, and was one of the few who was happy with the trade last season. Most were crying about no draft choices for Vanek. This kid has been a pretty good player at every level he has played at.
My only concern over Motte is, he has one game left of being waiver exempt . Lets hope that if he is one of the top thirteen forwards, they keep him, and not send him down because of his exemption.

Chris Tanev had another strong game, finishing with a 70.37 CF%. Tonight I found not only his poise, but his assertiveness with the puck got the team out of many high danger situations. The defensive wizard seems to be finding his stride early this year.

After a bit of a shaky start, Derrick Pouliot finished with a strong game paired primarily with Tanev. He led the team with a controlled exit rate of 55%. Additionally, he was aggressive in the neutral zone, breaking up three plays, which helped him to a nearly 60% share of shots while on the ice.

Goldobin had a bit of quiet game during his 16:40 on the ice. I wouldn’t go as far to say he had a bad game, but fair or not, he’s going to have to contribute more offensively to stay in Travis Greens lineup. His five primary shot contributions while starting on a line with Pettersson just simply isn’t going to be enough.

A quick note, with Pettersson around, I am no longer worried about zone entries being a problem on the power-play.

Tyler Motte continues to impress and is making it incredibly difficult to do anything but keep him on the team to start the season. He’s been an effective three zone player during the preseason and is driving any line he’s been put on. He’s seemingly always in the right position in the neutral zone and is causing a ton of turnovers. His speed is generating controlled entries and he’s show an ability to distribute, creating scoring chances. At this point, I think he’s played himself onto the team.

just 3 even-strength goals in 4 preseason games for #Canucks. Stop me if you've heard this one before...

Motte giving #Canucks what he can. Works hard. Skates well. But not much of a bottom line, nor is there likely to be. Is there room on roster? Played 16:03 tonight

Vancouver media

Every game I've watched I have pulled things out of there I liked. Bo has had a very good start and so has EP.

Motte has impressed and if I was Benning I would say screw waivers. I would give him a shot in top 6 in preseason and see what he does

Brocks timing will come it needs more work and Sven has had a good start

Edler and Tanev are playing decent .

I don't care what happens to Gaunce Gagner Granlund Goldobin or Leipsic.

I think people (media especially) put to much stock into preseason play. I agree with all above except for maybe giving up early on leipsic and goldobin. They have shown flashes of being good players for us imo. As far as the rest u listed.. trade and waive
