Rielly Zaitsev
Gardiner Hainsey
Rosen Ozighanov
Borgman

Dermott can (frank)in play in the AHL and we'll see if he's behaves like a good pro, you know Babs is totally watching that. Borgman apparently whined when he got sent down and didn't see another look after that. Leafs gotta do something eventually with their D because some of these guys are going to ask for a trade. Liljegren and Sandin are progressing very nicely.

- Arctic_AARDVARK

I said it earlier in the offseason, Dermott could find himself in the AHL at some point. Sophomore slumps are a female dog.

I'd take Holl over Ozighanov. Holl has earned a shot, Ozighanov needs to earn his with time in the AHL. Rosen can skate but as a bottom pairing, probably better off with Borgman's physicality.

Dubas just gave a guy whos turning 27 1.35mil to play a game... Im pretty sure he's been well compensated for his services as a hockey player.

Who exactly are you talking about?

What does getting paid to play hockey have to do with giving a player a chance in the NHL?

Holl..

He doesn't "deserve" a shot, he was just given a nice chunk of guaranteed cash.

He deserves a shot because he earned it. He spent time in the AHL, he's a simple defender, RHD, has all the tools, paid his dues, he's playing well. Ozy just showed up, his experience is next to none on North American ice. He can spend the year in the AHL and he's an RFA next year so either he stays or he goes back to the KHL if he doesn't like it. Both Holl and Ozy are the same age so at this point it's a matter of who's going to fit in the NHL better and right now that's Holl.

I think Ozhiganov is a better hockey player, Babs is looking for a Polak replacement.

He really isn't, especially with zero games played in North America on top of it.

Borgman is the Polak replacement, as explained earlier. Holl is just a good, simple, bottom pairing D. Good pro.

His 37 games last year don't count as a rookie season?

We have too many 3rd pairing guys. Can't keep all of them. Gotta think something gives soon. A trade maybe.

Wouldn't be a problem right now if they got Karlsson.

I don't see a trade, it's just whoever makes the team, makes the team and whoever doesn't, plays for the Marlies.

Even then, it's still a lot.
Top 4 is likely to be: Rielly-Hainsey and Gardiner-Zaitsev after that we have Carrick, Ozhiganov, Borgman, Rosen, Liljegren, Holl, Dermott, and we can add Sandin as well.

Rosen, Ozhiganov, Liljegren and Sandin: AHL bound and Marlies top 4.

Dermott, Carrick, Borgman and Holl are the real candidates and three of them will make it. If Dermott is back to normal, he's in and Borgman goes down. Otherwise, Borgman and Carrick / Holl alternate.

I can't condone a cheap shot, he deserves his suspension. Having said that am I wrong to think I'd like to see him on Kadri's wing?
