I’d honestly be curious to see the history of draft pick only trades in the first round and how successful were the teams moving up vs teams trading down

Wouldn't be too hard to figure out. I mean drafting over the past 15 years has become a more important thing for teams to hit on 1st rounders and there probably haven't been many trades in the top 10.

There’s a reason why Virtanen has struggled to find chemistry with players here. He’s just more of a 1 on 1 rush the puck up the ice type of player.

He struggles to create offense during sustained offensive zone pressure. For a big body, he’s not great in the cycle game or tipping in shots in front of the net.

That type of individualistic style is better suited on an energy type of line. And that’s perfectly fine. Those types of players are valuable too, especially if they provide a physical element.
