The thing about his game is the mistake that ends up in an easy goal for the other team. The other parts of his game arent bad. Also why you see journeymen play the 3rd pairing because they learned to avoid the huge mistake but doesnt do anything else special.

Find the happy medium where he doesnt look bad and trade him away. 25 minutes a night of Hutton will mean a top 4 pick for Van.

I only saw the first period last night and highlights this morning.

I thought Brisebois was a decent fit with Guds. Made a few plays to ease the pressure and allowed for room to break out. Hope he finds some assertiveness like OJ and leads Utica this season

I think Sautner should make the team this year just because he is ready and not waiver protected. OJ can be called up at TDL

He can certainly take Biega's roster spot from last year and be the lone bright spot back there.

I am trying really hard to not make too many judgments about the team after only 3 exhibition games, but so far the entire defense looks about the same or much worse than last year. MDZ/Biega looked like PTO fillers out there last night

Its really tough to make the pairings work when the areas each individual is weak in, they are extremely weak in. Even the best defenceman Tanev is a blackhole offensively. The rest have IQ issues, some have physical weaknesses, and some lack general skill.

I would keep Juolevi in the AHL to play top pairing, and start giving Saunter some NHL minutes in hopes he can compliment someone

Not to overhype or get too far ahead, but I really can't wait for Hughes. Hutton has had some decent moments, and some awful moments, this preseason but on the PP he does not process the game on the same level as the rest of the guys. The puck moves a lot slower through him

We do know they history of this team on D so it is more than 3 preseason games and we have also seen Sautner play 5 regular season games on Canucks and 160 plus games for the Comets.

I am saying 4 mil is way too much for EG . Some of his skills this team does need though even if they are overpaying him 2.5 per year. Nothing more nothing less.
