maybe that's what happened, but he still isn't even looking at the guy trying to engage him. his hands aren't even up to protect his face/head while the guy is giving him shots with his glove on. - Ftown19125
Probably because he wanted to make sure he didn't get a penalty. I don't think he expected the guy to drop a glove and punch him because, as has been shown, it's an incredibly stupid thing to do to both yourself and your team.

So the guy with a significant past concussion issue who keep trying to pull away and disengage somehow didn't do it demonstratively enough? Sorry, what I see is Domi seeing the refs coming in to say enough and he slips in the cheap shot to make sure he got it in before they pulled them apart. - juiced
I think we might need to pump the breaks, for this season. It is exciting watching the youth work it’s way into the big club but we are probably still a year away.
But man it’s a great time to be a Flyers fan - wcorvette

there's no doubt in my mind he didn't expect him to punch him, but I just feel like you still have to be aware of what's going on right in front of your face. domi is giving him shots and he was looking everywhere but at him.

Given his injury history, I'd think Ekblad would try to calm the situation by not engaging Domi at all. His body language basically said he had no interest in fighting a guy half his size.
I get what you're saying, but it's still a complete douchebag move by Domi.

For sure. I’m not saying anything about not fighting him. More like a be aware of your surroundings kind of thing. He’s looking around waiting for a ref or teammate to stop it. Doesn’t always happen before you get punched.
Really liked that Bill mentioned Corban Knight on the Flyers website article. I’m rooting for him to make the big club as the 12th forward and first forward PK unit. Loved the Lindblom, Laughton, Knight line. Would be nice to see it again in preseason. The bottom two forward lines could very well be more of a 3A - 3B type with ice time varying depending on match ups.
Domi is a punk bastard just like his dad. The apple never falls far from the tree, it was only a matter of time. Ekblad tries to skate away, was yanked back, was standing there getting yanked around with his arms up, then when he got yanked a 4th time or 5th time, put his arm there to push Domi away. Apparently that was enough for Domi to conclude Ekblad was "engaging", and roasts him. If that's ok with you I don't know what to tell you.
All those Habs fans cheering, but it's the Flyers fans who are "bloodthirsty" (actual quote from a few years ago by our lovable Doc Emrick)
