Could have helped having a stronger partner. Think he was with Folin most of the time. But made his share of mistakes with the pair. - peesinwind
Not impressed at all with Folin. He's basically last year's version of Gudas without the any of the potential upside. As soon as Sanheim is ready to go, Folin should return to the 7th man spot, and when AMac returns, I'd waive or trade Folin (assuming you can get anything for him) and make Hagg the 7th man.
If all are healthy, my starting six are: Provy, Ghost, AMac, Myers, Sanheim and Gudas.

I do wonder if there is a secret competition going on for 4C too. Like is Weal 3C or bust? Obviously Laughton is the obvious choice if 46/40 wins 3C job. Lehtera gets put into the mix. It seems like a longshot that the 12 best forwards are actually on the ice together - YuenglingJagr
I think Laughton gets the 4C and Lehtera is the spare center. Laughton ability to kill penalties will give him the edge over Weal for that spot. Weal will likely be joining Jori in the Cote suite most nights unless/until he's traded.

Last season when they waived Matt Read. - MJL
True and although they most likely will waive another vet this season, I think they need to get rid of a contract. Bottom forward is where they have the most depth. |

When did they actually start killing penalties, LOL.
All kidding aside, assuming Gudas isn't the guy in the box, I'd start the PK with Provorov/Gudas and then go to AMac/Myers. If Gudas is in the sin bin, I'd start with Provorov/Myers and then go to Sanheim/AMac.

Haven’t watched a game yet but this has been as exciting a preseason as I can remember with all the kids. - Just5
It's only going to get better with Allison, Frost, Ratcliffe (maybe JOB and Farabee) and Rubstov, maybe Kase, Bunamman and Lycksell next year.
The following year you've got the remainder of the guys from above plus Cates who might be ready to go by the following season.

Don’t forget when Morin is ready to go. He was ready for this roster last year and can up grade that PK. He is not a big gun on the offensive sign but he is good on their D Zone. He will add a little grit to the team also.
Hexy is going to have to move another D or risk sitting NHL talent in the press box. They should have the trade deadline space by then but he may make this team better. |

I tried to watch the game last night but couldn't figure out a damned thing.
I'm not sure if MSG was punking us or if the Rangers fans were getting the same feed. But whoever was in control of the cameras in the truck was either drunk, OCD, or severely mentally disturbed.
The camera angles were more jumpy than a $5 whore in church. - MBFlyerfan
It's preseason for the camera guys too. The had a young guy from Hartford. Showed a lot of promise last season, but he definitely has to work on his pan speed. His zoom choices were good, but needs to be more consistent in his zoom speed. His shots were centered, but his stability wasn't the best tonight. Just needs to simplify his game. He needs some more time in Hartford. |

I am not going to rail on the guy. He was a solid pro who had some good years. Everyone likes to think they know what Hextall will do but who saw him signing van Riemsdyk this offseason. He has shown to be steady and patient until it's time not too.
But right now i think Twarynski and Aube-Kubel both look like they can bring more then Weise right now. - J35Bacher
Weise had two years where you could consider him as a regular, and the last time was 15-16, where he was traded to Chicago and used sparingly. It's nothing against him, but he's just not an NHL quality player, not on this roster anyway. His contract the Flyers game him was 1-2 years too long. I understand Hexy's thought when they signed him, but he's not the player hexy thought he was signed. If he was, he probably would be worth the contract. |

If he plays like he did the second half of the season, I might lose my mind. If he's not playing on the edge he's not effective, and I think they asked him to curtail his physical play because he was always crossing the line..ugh.. |

Really loved Hart's battle and movement in the crease. Give him a year or so in the A, but look out if he improves on what I already see. Could be a good one. |

Why not? Not arguing but why wouldn't he? He has good size. Has played very well. Fits a roll the Flyers could use. Can play on PK which I think is big. Is it just you feel they will keep guys like Weise instead?
Hextall always said a player needs to take a job from a veteran. Right now I think both Twarynski and Aube-Kubel have taken Weise's spot? I think one of them earns a spot. - J35Bacher
In terms of a young player I hope that means a spot in the top 12. Is Weise a top 12 player? Why have a young player as a spare forward?

My view is one of Aube-Kubel or Twarynski make the team and Weise is waived. Both wont because there isn't a spot and you wouldn't want them sitting for stretches. Especially since you could have Weal and Lehtara as extras on the NHL roster.
I don't see any young forwards being kept as extras. They either are in the lineup or they go to Lehigh. My spares are guys like Weal, Lehtara and maybe Leier because they are what they are. |

Giroux's number of DZ draws taken in previous seasons is as follows.
14/15 612
15/16 602
16/17 420
17/18 340
As we see, his use on DZ draws has decreased drastically in the last few seasons. Patrick is locked in at 2nd line center. Filppula who took a good number of DZ draws last season, is gone. If Vorobyev makes the team as 3rd line center, and Laughton as the 4th line center, who takes on that responsibility? |

I think time, place score might come into effect then. Late in game you might send out Couturier or even Giroux. But that will be one spot that might be a learning curve. |

Morin is in a tough spot. Won;t be playing for the majority of the season. Coming off a major injury how realistic or fair is it to expect him to upgrade the PK this season?
