Some interesting moves to be made. I'm sure we will debating most of them through the 1st week of season. Opening night, on the road, banner raising. I fear Hak goes for veteran line up.

Only got to see the highlights, but from what people who saw last night's game are saying, it seems like Vorobyev is making a very strong push to be the 3C and that Myers is absolutely ready to play in the NHL.

I absolutely think Vorobyev makes it. He's been involved every game he played and the fact he plays a pretty good defensive game makes me think he is the 3rd line center.

I am starting to think one of Aube-Kubel or Twarynski are making this team. Both guys fit the new age 4th line. Both have pretty good size, skate well, play an agitating style and still have offensive skills.

Flyers have 14 forwards on 1 way contracts. They could trade or waive some of the deadweight, but when was the last time the Flyers have done that to make room in the bottom 6?

Correction...11 1 way contracts, but Patrick, Konecny and Lindblom are staying on the roster.

I see this opening night:

Giroux-Couturier-Konecny
JVR-Patrick-Voracek
Lindblom-Vorobyev-Simmonds
Twarynski/Aube-Kubel-Laughton-Raffl

Extras: Weal, Lehtara
Waived: Leier, Weise

One of Tawrynski or Aube-Kubel goes to Lehigh. Not enough space for both. Both guys can play on PK which is something that helps. Weal and Lehtara are extras. Both can fill in. Weal in top 9 if needed, Lehtara on 4th line if needed.

Weise and Leier are waived. Just don't bring enough to send someone else down.

Hope that this year is different. Would be great to trade 1 NHL contract, any forward outside the top 9. Get a draft pick back.

I tried to watch the game last night but couldn't figure out a damned thing.

I'm not sure if MSG was punking us or if the Rangers fans were getting the same feed. But whoever was in control of the cameras in the truck was either drunk, OCD, or severely mentally disturbed.

The camera angles were more jumpy than a $5 whore in church.

Dont see twarynski making despite his good camp. Actually don’t even think he is in the discussion.

Does Weise have any value to a team for a 7th rd pick if flyers eat half of the contract ?

Ok, well I guess I will have to just wait and see how many of Weise, Leier, Lehetera and/or Weal get moved or waived. Seems like a typical Flyers move.

Not really, none of the players fans want moved have value unless the Flyers add something to take them.

Why not? Not arguing but why wouldn't he? He has good size. Has played very well. Fits a roll the Flyers could use. Can play on PK which I think is big. Is it just you feel they will keep guys like Weise instead?

Hextall always said a player needs to take a job from a veteran. Right now I think both Twarynski and Aube-Kubel have taken Weise's spot? I think one of them earns a spot.

so he'd basically be a free 5-7th round pick then

Yes, except you're under no obligation to give a draft pick a contract.

Zamula made 1 mistake that lead to a goal and a few other errors, but he also made some really smart defensive reads and had good stick work winning battles with NHLers. He shows loads of potential. Just ask Provy after that -5 night in Chicago if young defenseman have growing pains. Zamula looks to me to be a future steady big minute d-man. It is a commitment but I think it is worth it. Kid looks special.

He had a rough night last night but I like what I seen from this kid. I hope they give him a contract. I know they are tight to the 50 contract limit but I think he looks likely to develope into a good player.

I would keep Weal as an extra. He can play in the top 9 if someone gets injured. Then you don't have some youngster sitting. Same for Lehtara as he can fill a 4th line role.

I would waive or move Weise is there is a deal out there. Leier I would waive as I just don't think he brings enough compared to others.

Well, you did ask the question.

I'd say at least 1 of them gets waived. As for traded, if the Flyers are sending them to LHV or making them a healthy scratch, why would any GM want to trade? Takes two to tango.

I think Leier definitely gets waived, not sure about the rest.

He has limited pro experience. Don’t see him being rushed. Not Ronald’s mo to make that type of move.

Yes I think they keep Weise as Ronald signed him. Though he is smart to realize his mistake so maybe he waives him. Comparing those 2 to Weise though isn’t a great thing. Weiss borderline nhl player at this point. Need to compare them to others who are legit nhl players

It's making me sick to my stomach that Hagg is in front of Myers on the depth chart. I would be looking to move Hagg to a team desperate for defensemen

I think vorobyov ends up being sent down even with his impressive camp. Wela and laughton both look better in the center than on the wing and they won't be sent down. The only way I can see him staying is if weal is traded. Also curious to see what happens when Frost and Ruby are ready for the big show as well. Lots of center prospects

I am not going to rail on the guy. He was a solid pro who had some good years. Everyone likes to think they know what Hextall will do but who saw him signing van Riemsdyk this offseason. He has shown to be steady and patient until it's time not too.

But right now i think Twarynski and Aube-Kubel both look like they can bring more then Weise right now.

Myers is playing well and out playing most of his composition for roster spots. This is going to have to make Hexy work to find room for him. Think Hexy will enjoy this problem.

Vorobyev is just a solid 200 foot player. He is not just defensively sound. He has some nice hands. His hockey IQ passes my eye test (though my hockey IQ is not very high) for what that is worth. I can say you notice him out there every shift. He is knocking someone off the puck or getting in the passing lane or pushing in to the dirty areas. He is big and uses it some too. If he gets sent back down it won’t be for long.
