Kapanen was a 1st round pick, who yeah, is better than Sprong right now, but he hasn't been much more than a bottom six player for the Leafs.

Unless someone in the bottom six really outplays Hagelin, I have a feeling he will be back. As much crap as people give Hagelin around here, when you really look at what he brings, it's not something you can easily replace.

And Hags is not an issue for me at all. Would be okay with a re-sign at a cheaper hot.

I'm guessing you just remember seeing him hit PIT players that already moved the puck up the ice.

I would do either a two-year/$3M contract or a three-year/$2.5M contract. Because I want that though, they'll do a four-year $3.5M contract lol

I agree. People just look at cap hit compared to production. He's one of the best PK'ers in the game IMO...one of the fastest guys in the league too...which is one reason he's so effective at PK.

I haven't seen the game but we have two conflicting reports about Sprong in the comments section here.

I really think he'd get snagged on waivers...so here's to hoping he can be solid somewhere in the lineup and not sitting in the press box every night.

I'm going to make it 2 to 2. I thought he was meh. He still gets lost on the ice. I agree with whoever said to hold my judgement until he's playing with a real center, but I didn't see much there. It's a shame they screwed up a few years ago and kept him on the roster 'cause I don't think Sullivan is going to give him a jersey unless we have injury issues.

Other things I noticed... DeSmith was good. Depauli has NHL wheels....not sure about his hands but he was tenacious and won a lot of races. Riiccola looks competent. I still don't see it with Simon. He looks like injury replacement material to me. Actually, I think that describes most of the forwards I watched. However, it's hard to really judge most of these players 'cause the Pens had so little of their roster on the ice.
