Saunter took a bad penalty. Otherwise he was consistent. - thundachunk
That was a weak call |

The boys looked rusty tonight and I am looking forward to this year.
It was nice to see Sven and Goldobin having a good camp and giving us two top 6 forwards we were unsure of. Hope they continue . Add in Brock and we are getting close to a proper top 6 .
Nilsson sucked
The door is wide open for OJ . Hutton and Tanev yesterday -3 |

I would like to see Demko play Nilsson and Markstrom out of a job.
Your right even Tanevs play was sloppy. |

Just saw Bob pre season draft rankings. I wouldnt not take Hughes but I do like the idea of a bigger center.
The highlights of Broberg, noticed his ability to fight through the check in the defensive zone while keeping the puck. Something a lot of the Canucks D cant do.
Byram seems like a Yandle type Dman. |

That’s why Green has to give Hutton and Stecher another go. Rust. |

Yup give them 3 or 4 more chances. It is only short term contracts so who cares |

Green on Hutton : He was all right, lots of guys were average. Tyler Motte was good, he had good speed. We need to be better. |

Motte looked good last night, good wheels, not impressed with Schaller. |

I watched about 3/4 of the game and thought Motte was one of the better players last night, very noticeable.
I do feel bad for him though on a personal level, as his waiver status probably means he's AHL-bound and won't see a call up because the moment he plays another NHL game he has to clear waivers |

Unless Motte develops a bit of a scoring touch. Hansen could skate and put up 30 points almost. Saw what happened to him on a better team. |

Travis Green on Pettersson playing centre : It is early to tell. I will watch the tape to see how he did in his own end but he is grasping things daily. He was good, that whole line was, it was our best line. #Canucks |

There will be hiccups along the way . I think Green will be patient. The Canucks fans maybe /maybe not |

I thought EP was good on the back check. Same with Dahlen. It will be a quick learning process for EP. Once he scores though. Dont know when it will stop 😍 |

I think he did very well for his first showing. He did have one or two small hiccups but I was thinking all the time watching him Wow . |

I wasn't able to watch the third period, getting old, but Pettersson looked much better at even strength as the game went on. PP he's dynamite, controls the halfwall just like Henrik used to. |

his one timer is also fantastic. It will be interesting to see the PP cycle to opposite sides to Brock and Elias this year for the one timers. |

Can Hutton be moved to TO where he will be considered Olympic material? - LordHumungous
He was only ever an Olympic hopeful while in Vancouver (and Esplen was the blogger). Once he got claimed by TO he was barely a 7th dman |

At the same age (22) Hansen had 60 NHL games with six goals fifteen assists for twenty one points. Motte has 79 NHL games with nine goals five assists. So assuming they're both getting bottom six minutes they're pretty much equal.
Hopefully Motte can be the next Hansen with his speed? |

I was praising that pick from the time they said his name, minivan can look it up lol. I believe I said "I don't know how anyone can not like this pick because this kid is really skilled".
Or something like that? |
