We all know your game plan, stop pretending you dont secretly want Joel Ward captaining this team

PTO for Les habitants.

I would still trade his PTO rights for Girgensons

But how do you know he'd learn more by sitting than by playing? I'm of the opinion that he'd learn a lot more by being out there in game situations than by just watching the tape and Peterman's in-game heroics...

There's been rookies that start year 1 and develop into great QBs, some sit first year and develop into great QB, and some suck in both situations. I'm hoping we get option A

- Whatnot78

Well there’s no proof one way or the other with Allen specifically
Obviously there can’t be
But it is a commonly held belief that u don’t put a young QB in if they aren’t mentally ready
And it’s pretty easy to see that Allen is struggling in that department
Giving him more time to study makes sense to me
Last thing we need is for him to keep taking all these hits bc he can’t read a blitz is coming & shift the line protection to help out
*it’s not ALL the o-lines fault

We don’t have a TEAM AROUND HIM like Big Ben had in Pitt, or Wentz in Philly, or Russell in Seattle

Allen is gonna get killed back there

Of course,
At some point Allen will have to “learn by doing”
I just think he needs to be better prepared
Especially given the state of the O-line & the rest of the team around him
Before we have him in there
No sense in getting him killed for a couple extra wins (maybe?)

And there’s no harm in letting him learn from the sidelines for a bit
Mayfield & Rosen are doing it
The Rams drafted Goff 1st overall & didn’t play him till like Week9

There’s no shame in taking our time with Allen
We all knew he’d need development when we drafted him

Yes, i get that Peterman sucks
But rushing Allen in risks him development of bad habits (which aren’t easy to fix)
And of course also risks him getting killed back there

I don’t understand why they waste their time playing playing guys like Tennyson, Randall, Criscuolo, etc?
We all know these guys aren’t making the team

At least with a guy like Hickey, he could be part of the future at some point
But it seems like a waste to play these other guys when we could be seeing Olofsson with Jack, or Thompson with Mitts, etc etc etc

A lot of those guys have been playing the wing now for a bit

Kinda weird to see them still listed at “Center” though
I don’t get the reasoning there?

We'll have to see what the lines are.

I heard an interview with Erod where he said they're telling him to be a LW on this team.

Makes sense
Before the LW additions,
i had E Rod slotted at LW with Jack

I’m guessing they think he’s at least earned a shot in the top9
And they probably see Berglund or Sobatka as the “defensive” 3C for now
With a guy like Asplund coming within the next year or so

It’ll be interesting to me if we see Guhle & Nelson play together
I’d think they get a look to see what a possible 3rd pair combo they look like

I’ve heard McCabe has been playing some RD so far too
Makes sense for when Bogo inevitably gets hurt

Management sees this in practice when they have less concern about opponents injuring our guys.

They always rotate players in preseason. Tomorrow's a home game and televised. As much as a coach and GM will tell you it doesn't factor into their decisions, it absolutely does. Or at least, they are told to factor it into their decision.

Eichel has been in the league 3 years.

His only injuries have been two freak ankle sprains.

Has no one tried to hit him in 3 years?

I'm pretty sure the second ankle injury was directly caused by a borderline hit.

Dahiln and mitts are going to be targets.

How many times was sam just anilailated last year?
At least 5 times.

Eichel went on to explain how the situation was overblown and how the rumors started when O'Reilly didn't fist-bump him after scoring a goal. According to Eichel, the two had heard the rumblings and intentionally had some fun with the rumors by intentionally ignoring each other after the team had scored a goal.

"He scored a goal last year and I went over to give him knucks and he kind of breezed me as a joke and the Buffalo media ran with it," Eichel added. "Me and him were dying laughing so we started thinking every time one of us scores [we'll] breeze the other guy and everyone will think we don't like each other. So we were messing around with it obviosuly."
