But for this matter, the best source is Bruce Garrioch of "The Ottawa Sun", and the one who knows most about everything with that franchise for years. The Ottawa blogger just very late this afternoon even used Garrioch's words tweeted on the official trade that went down, when he posted his blog on it a short time ago.
In addition, as I both wrote earlier, the trade didn't result in Ottawa receiving an upper tier level player in return for an elite d'man in Karlsson, which made it "a tiny bit" reminiscent of the horrible Rangers Rick Middleton for Ken Hodge trade in the mid 1970's. Nor did Ottawa dispose of Bobby Ryan's horrible contract. The trade was a disappointment and letdown for many shown by name to be Senators fans, as seen alone right on that Sens' blog posted about 1 hour ago. This wasn't just any other d'man that they dealt.
