The re-signing clause makes it a little better, can't imagine they are looking at Karlsson as a rental. |

They also can't flip him like they did Hoffman without sending another 1st to Ottawa. Doug Wilson, you sneaky SOB. |

That clause is strange. Not that it couldn't happen, but it seems like you just got one of the best defenceman and now arguably have 2 of the top 5 defenceman on the right side, why the hell would you flip him. |

Cause Ottawa is dumb and didn't think of it when traded Hoffman to San Jose. |

That is a lot of money tied up on the right side. |

Yeah that is problem I'd love to have. Considering the Rangers only have 2 decent RHD. |

If I could have Karlsson and Burns on the right side of a contending team, I would need to consult a doc because my boner would be way longer than 4 hours. |

This Karlsson trade received by Ottawa relieves "just a tiny bit" of my disgust of the Rangers in the mid 1970's trading promising two year, 46 total goals scored, and age 22 potential future RW star in Rick Middleton, (who should be in the Hall of Fame), for an aged RW in Ken Hodge, all to meet the demands of Rangers center Phil Esposito needing Hodge again in order to be successful in New York. |

What’s good about that little thing is you never have to worry about it bumping into anything and you could walk around in public and nobody would know. |

Why would you love to have that problem tom, when you want them to only tank until Hank's, and the following two or three equal Hank length eras' successors careers all come to an end thereafter? |

Cause Burns and Karlsson are good? This isn't brain surgery, but for you it might be. |

They say Norris went to Ottawa, but I have a feeling we will see Norris in SJ a couple of times in the near future, if ya know what I mean! |

That's why I said I was only, "a tiny bit" relieved there, with that "tiny bit" due to Ottawa not receiving an upper level NHL established player like Hertl as one piece in return for an elite NHL d'man in Karlsson. That is what prevented Tampa and Vegas in part, (along with the Ryan issue), from acquiring him dating back to last year's deadline, until Dreger's rumors yesterday on TSN had it that they would be willing to now.
I think that Dreger felt that way due to as of now by next July, Vegas has only 4 d'men currently signed for next season, in Brayden McNabb, Colin Miller, Nate Schmidt, and Nick Holden. |

(frank). I think SJ can save cap space by only dressing EK and Burns on the right side. How the hell do even come close to giving these guys the minutes they're accustomed to? |

Should Karlsson be extended long term by the Sharks, one of Karlsson's other most interested seekers in the Lightning, (or possibly some other team), should see Anton Stralman's price, barring some setback, likely rise higher than initially expected over his current year's expiring $4.5M he was already due to receive an increase on. |

If/once Seguin signs, if you are Gorton, do you make a run at Panarin or hope he makes it to free agency? - airjan23
Now you have to take that chance that Panarin would want the Rangers as his first signing option next Summer, and not trade for him in likely sacrificing parts of the rebuild. With Seguin now officially off that projected list, you hold hope that up front, Panarin or Stone may become upper class free agents available then, along maybe with Duchene as options. But now they must consider extending Hayes long term if he prefers, with those mentioned likewise being no guarantee to reach free agency.
Despite being in a rebuild you plan & hope will be only a short one, this is why when both, any young mid to upper tier, or even top free agent is available that suits your needs, and while you have sufficient to excessive cap space availability, you must take advantage of the situation at that time to spend while you can. That, as opposed to risking a younger free agent stud being either extended or dealt by his team prior to ever reaching free agency. |
