Wow. That was tough to read. Glad to see things are currently on the right track for him. It really does explain a lot and if you look back, you can probably pick out the cycles. Kinda looking forward to see what he can do for the Isles now this year.

And good to see that Botts continues to check in on him. I think that says a lot about who we have at the top here.

Jeez...well, I hope the good fans of Buffalo give Lehner a standing ovation next time he starts a game here for the Isles.

When he's on, he's actually quite a good goalie. I fully expect him to be much better, consistently.

But more importantly, it's always great when a player, let alone a person, gets help. A great friend of mine had a very similar story and it truly is heartbreaking.

Was never a Lehner fan.

I am now. Will always root for someone to beat addiction and Bi-polar. It’s a deadly combo, that I personally deal with

Honestly, as I was reading this I felt kind of like I was reading the Malarchuk article from the Players Tribune awhile back. So many of the same general themes and overtones. It's sad. People are so afraid of asking for help because society has deemed it to be a "bad" thing. And nobody wants to have the stigma of it attached to them in any way.

It’s definitely that, but with bi-polar, when you are manic, you think you are great. When you are down you don’t care about getting help.

It’s not fun

I personally don't have it, but have heard enough about it to know that at this point. I have a cousin that has Borderline Personality disorder. So I've been around this type of stuff enough over the last 10 years.

I hope things are going ok for you. I know with this type of illness it's kind of a day by day type thing.

Glad to hear

It definitely will make keeping an eye on the Islanders more interesting this year. I think sometimes we as fans kind of tend to "forget" (for lack of a better word) that these guys are human at times.

The athletic had a bunch of different bottom-6 lineups. One was
Nylander-Aplund-Thompson
Erod-Berglund-Pominville

Not that would expect it, but that would be a fun team to watch grow

That 3rd line might be the starting line in Rochachacha, but I would definetly want to see that in Buffalo.

4th line bores me
