Precedent on this site indicates when a fan leaves a team when it appears darkest, that team will soon appear to have a resurgence not seen in years.

Honestly it's unfortunate. Under Murray (RIP) they had someone who knew what they were doing. I'm not sure who the other staff were but they were good at drafting, scouting, building and had a professional demeanour that was respected.

Eugene has gotten rid of most of that. It's a skeleton crew that are being asked to do far too much and Eugene is making everything worse.

I honestly feel bad for the fans (Leafs fans suffered this for 20 odd years).

Edit: With the exception of Spatso and Dopps. I find it truly hilarious just for those 2.

If Melnyck thinks that a total rebuild with all new players is what fans want, then the man is hopelessly clueless. Yes we want some youth on the roster. Yes we want a fresh start (which is what a new season always brings a chance for). We do not want to see our stars (read Karlsson) traded away so you can save some cash. If you can't afford a decent roster, sell the team or bring on a partner.

Here's a little fortune telling for you Eugene: If you trade Erik Karlsson, prepare to have nightly attendance somewhere around 9,000. If you think you have financial problems now, just wait.

Oh, I'm sure he was given a few extra bucks to do this. I don't think he was forced to do it.

They talked on the radio a couple weeks ago about how Boro was going to be the main PR player (ie videos/interviews etc).

This is so gutless on so many levels. Not only is he the worst owner in professional sports but he's also the biggest coward. Letting the kids play is great and all but you have to retain your top end talent. This stinks of an owner who can no longer afford to run an NHL team. The only thing I am looking forward to are the fans who will get tossed from the CTC because of the #MelnykOut signs. Already cancelled my half season tickets and I am not sure I will go even if I get free tickets because at this point, I will bring in the biggest/brightest MelnykOut sign you've ever seen.

That would be good exept it will just cause the team to relocate. Dont think for a second that a Canadian Market will get the Arizona\Phoenix treatment from Bettman.
