Anything he says is not going to be accepted on social media. I do believe he ernestly was trying to mend things and give a sense of direction. But cmon stfu.

I went back and listened to the Melnyk/Boro video again.

Melnyk parsed his language in a curios manner. He said the he was going to stay around Ottawa for a long time. In a following sentence, he said the franchise was staying in Ottawa. First time I have heard him separate his personal interest from the franchise.

Sorry, but I've heard this too many times from too many people. Too many stories of people knowing a guy who say's X, or Y. T

A deal is imminent... or in the works.

Being loyal at this time is foolish imo. Melnyk needs to go, and it seems it will have to be the league to eventually intervene.

This is already happening. Huge drops in attendance. Fans and business are very vocal about some of the really dumb choices Melnyk forced on the team.

I think the turning point was letting Methot walk away in the expansion draft. At that point everybody knew it was about money in Melnyk's pocket and it has gone dramatically from that point. Melnyk refusing to negotiate with Turris merely confirmed his deconstruction of a pretty solid team.

To give hope to your theory. It wouldnt be the first time a corporation has bold faced lied to its consumers. ( melynk is not going anywhere).. it could be more posturing to keep the upperhand in negotiations. Wich wouldnt surprise me

What your seeing is what it is. It has been like this for awhile.

The best hope is a complete rebuild, a new arena and new franchise structure.

Yes, you are right. Melnyk does not care about fans. He is trying to preserve his position to get the best deal possible.

The one critical consideration is the financing. Over $7b necessary to develop LeBretton and adjacent lands. No way a Melnyk led project gets the money. So, he either goes away or stays on in a minor role.

Turris wanted to stay and would have stayed for $6m. Melnyk would not approve the deal. So, Turris and a 1st round pick went for Duchene. Now it is clear that Duchene will not likely be returning next year. The Sens were not that far off the cap ceiling. Now they are crashing towards the floor.

Im not going to pick apart Methot and Turris they were good guys here. The handing out of picks and prospects was a bad joke. Dorion has been a epic failure so far. Just how much influence on gm choices Melynk has is a mystery. To be fair though it does appear he likes to play with his toys.

I am convinced Melnyk is just Joaquin Phoenix playing a character for a mockumentary to be made about owning a pro sports team.

I think he, melnyk, has brain damage...

I despise Melnyk. My credentials in that regard are gold plated and have been for a long time.

However, i am fine with this rebuild promo. Far better to go "all in" rather than play at the margins.

So, 10 players (this year) with less than 10 NHL games played and adding another 6 rookies next year.

These numbers have been given to Melnyk (by Dorion and others). I assume that 3 and perhaps as many as 5 of those rookie players (out of the 16) are part of the return for Karlsson, Stone and Duchene.

Guy Boucher was a great junior coach. I guess he is going to have to remember how to coach kids again.
