I actually think that trade made them a lot better. I really thought they would struggle without neal but if patches can get on track, Stastny is a huge upgrade at 2c... it’s not a bad lineup. Schmidt our 20 games and getting popped doesn’t help them though. Montreal got a great return though.

they basically replaced perron/neal with pacioretty and stastny, right?

Perron is gonna come back down to earth and Stastny is a C so he gets the edge and Pacioretty > Neal for sure

Exactly. But I think it’s dangerous to give up on a potential star just because of his size. If it’s a case of too many small players you just get rid of the less skilled small players on your team.
