If Pettersson wins the Calder and we can either bury or trade Sutter, EG, MDZ, Gagner, LE, Gaunce and Hutton, I would take that. I figure by season's end, our lines will be
Dahlen-EP-Boeser
Baerschi-Bo-Leipsic
Granlund-AG-Virtanen
Roussel-Beagle-Lind
Schaller
OJ-Tanev
Edler-Stetcher
DP-Chatfield
Biega
Demko
Markstrom - DariusKnight
Posting line combos is so yesterday.
Predicting end of season standings is all the rage now.

let the debate about who we'd take with the 1st OA begin!!
shrimpy and dynamic hughes or the steady 6'3 Canadian Cousins.
That Swedish Dman looks decent too though.
And then watch people become dejected when we pick 5th OA...again. - dbot
From my limited amount of viewing of the prospects. I'd like to draft
Hughes, Cozens, Broberg, Kakko, Byram, Lavoie, Krebs, Dach,Bjornfot, Suzuki, Boldy, York, Zegras, Williams, Robertson, Kaliyev, Soderstrom, Vlasic, Newhook, Hugo Has, Grewe from that list. |

I would consider my statement to be constructive criticism. To be constructive is to be helpful... and friends help. As we all know friend is short for friendly, so therefor I was being friendly.
I’ll await your written apology. |

That’s pretty much along my thoughts. At least a few of them if the kids prove ready & able to take a spot. Next draft could be fun.

Because we have already a bunch of smaller players I hope that Hughes is off the board when we draft |

On J Hughes & his smurfness...
How could we not pick him?
Trade down or what idk but hard to pass him on IMO. I do like some more size but if not elite talent then no. The top 2 D next draft at this point look interesting. Also like Cozens but not positively sold yet. |

I’m not so sure “small” means anything anymore. There seems to be a push towards multiple lines of skill and speed at the sacrifice of goons and traditional checking lines. Skill and speed generally equates to a smaller player.
It’s rare to find the triple threat of skill, speed, and size. Usually those players become superstars. |

21 forwards 5'10" and under scored 40 plus points last season
86 forwards between 5'11" and 6'1"
44 players 6'2" and up
Only the best smaller players make it. Still wouldn't give up Hughes and the future isn't that small for Van's forwards.
Boeser, virtanen, Gaudette, Pettersson, Horvat are all over 6'

But what’s the trend? Are coaching styles changing? Player development choices becoming more “liberal” and not stuck on old school thought?
Will smaller players be given a great chance to succeed in the future? |

He’s hinted at not loving Hughes as much as most people before I think.
Too soon for me to debate prospects but if Hughes lives up to his hype again this year and is still the consensus #1 prospect then that’s who I want
I think I read somewhere that he produced more than Matthews did at the same age last year |
