It would be 4 years starting at age 31, and Max's 4 year deal starts at age 30. So it's a good comparable.

I think the only knock on him is his size. I would think the Flyers could get a similar return, though I would suspect they look more for a fit on the roster player than a prospect if they made the deal right now.

I'm all good with the kids. I'm not a big fan of vets on the bottom six who don't bring some measure of defensive presence to the ice. Personal opinion but kids on lower salary bases can bring the same careless play that an over priced vet can, some can bring a hell of a lot more.

I hate the salary cap but if we have to live with it let's not waste money, you never know when you'll need it.

Looking forward to the new season in every way but in goal. I'll watch the Phantoms for that.

He's kind of an okay skater for his size too. Not a really high motor kid. Can get a little lost in the physical game. He'll be a RW. He's a good prospect, but I've never been as high on him as others back to his draft year. Proudly had Roberto Tomas like 8-9 spots higher when it was the opposite for errebody else. The perceived value of Suzuki is higher than how I value him.

Honestly, seeing that extension tied to the trade makes the trade look better for Vegas too. At first I thought the value was kinda much. A lot of it had to do with what they sunk into Tatar to pawn him off so quickly. That was the #BaD trade. You're right though: they've really been acing their two drafts so far. They do have some capital to play with, provided they don't re-do the Tatar trade or go full Martin Erat. Never go full Erat.

No idea. I dont know how other clubs view Simmonds after last season, and the fact that he is kind of reliant on the creativity of others to get points. Not really a guy thats going to drive a line or play.

Still a valuable piece of say a team looking to take that next step. The arms race in the West is real and a club like Winnipeg/Nashville/San Jose might want to explore a deal.

Just throwing names out there but Tolvanen, Vesalainen, Appleton.
