It was actually MacDonald returning from injury last year that got them on a hot streak and push to the playoffs last year, so this is a very good thing
- YuenglingJagr

I know I always say it at this time of year, but man. I can see them being really, really good this season. Really good. We all know the weaknesses, but the Flyers have some real strengths if they can just avoid these kind of unfortunate injuries

1 day before training camp: May the best man win between Folin and Myers

End of training camp: Well, Folin is a veteran getting in shape and how much can you really take away from these preseason games when no one is trying?

Myers may get a shot but the kid stil has to prove he can stay healthy. Let’s see if he makes it through camp and preseason

Rumour is that Myers did not watch the Veggietales bible episodes mandated by Hakstol for off season training.

Kid is already behind the mark.

Exactly. Some dudes are just brittle -- a lot of times, they grow out of it. Sometimes they don't

Pretty much -- though I do recall last season watching a few Kings games where Folin appeared fine on the third pair

I mean, if people think he's more than a 6/7, they are likely gonna be disappointed. But if he is in that role, he should be OK

You ever put a mint leaf in your underwear before a night out with the lady? That’s old school chivalry right there.

My question mark on defense got a lot bigger with AMac out. He was so steady last season and everything the Flyers needed of him. I was really warming to his mentor role and hoping he would be paired with Sanheim this season.
I’ve thought that years down the road he may be the perfect 7th defenseman having been paired with each of our rookie defenseman during their development.

Well yeah, each player is treated according to their status in the league. Myers hasn't done squat in the NHL yet. Folin has earned the trust of a bonafide NHL coach. Why else would he have gotten minutes? He is a legit NHL player. With grit. And braun.

Not sure about you, but I put a lot of stock in that. I'm with the hockey people on this one.

You've spent nearly every day of the last 11 years arguing with people about inconsequential details on a hockey site. You're truly the most pathetic person I've ever encountered in my entire life. I bet you're too much of a coward to even show your face at a Buzzgate. I'd be too if I were you.

I think really, really good is a stretch. They still have a lot of youth. If young players can take some steps forward they can certainly be a playoff team. I guess it depends on your definition of what really, really good is.
