It would be prudent to not go after expensive UFA s not negligent. We don’t need two LOUIs slowing this team down when our young prospects are ready to push for the playoffs. - CanuckDon
Haha 26-28 year old UFA's that have been consistent 60pt+ players is a pretty far stretch from LE. |

Why the need to put mental issues in quotation marks? Reads as if you're downplaying their significance.
Addiction and drug use is a more nuanced and difficult subject than you're making it out to be. The way we as a society think of and treat addiction/drug use is pretty off. If you have five minutes, this is a pretty good video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ao8L-0nSYzg - NewYorkNuck
I don't know how you came up with me downplaying mental issues because I put it in quotation marks. There are tons of mental issues and how they come about are very different, that's why I put it in quotation. I wasn't talking about a specific mental illness.
Not every drug user is an addict.
According to the guy in the video, it's not people's perception of treating addiction/drug use it is society itself that is doing it to people.
I volunteer and sit and talk with people, once a week. I usually watch a baseball game with a 50 year old who takes his clothes off and lays down on the floor when he doesn't get his way. Family is encouraged to come visit family or friend's that are there.
The guy talking about people that don't get hooked when they are in the hospital. It's different when medical personnel are giving you the drugs compared to being at home and you can self medicate to your hearts content. |

Well then I feel sorry for people being treated by you family members if their beliefs really are that mentally ill people are at fault for their own addictions and not seeking help. That's just a brutal Ayn Rand way of looking at people and rationality, it's not that black and white. - neem55
That's not what I said at all. Thanks though, clearly this is too much for you to understand.

Caffeine in coffee is being called a dependence. Same goes for energy drinks and pre workouts with caffeine in them. |

Craig Anderson had some not so nice words about Karlsson being a locker room cancer, wonder what the deal is with him? A little overconfidence maybe?

How do you think Grabner is going to do in Arizona?
Couple good years with the islanders. Wasn't very good in toronto. Pretty good with the Rangers but wasn't very good in New Jersey. - manvanfan
Grabner is one of those guys because of his insane speed will create chances for himself but sometimes all the numbers don't tell the tale...
Hasn't he led the league in empty-net goals the past few seasons??

your wife isn't the only mental heath professional in the world. I broke down what you said (more than once) into two sentences. Sorry if you don't like your views reduced to what they are, but Im concise and thats exactly what you said. |

Cigarettes are an addiction and kill more people every year than all other drugs and alcohol combined. It not only kills users but second hand smoke has been proven to kill non users.
As a former smoker I know I tried to quit many times but was addicted and could not. It was a near death experience at age 51 that caused me to stop immediately. If I died that night I would have been no different that any other drug user . This is not only the same for me but for millions of other brothers sisters friends and co-workers.
People who make bad choices do not deserve to die. |
