If Hextall claimed him to be a 12/13th forward, I wouldn't mind. Worst case they can just waive him if things don't work out. Flyers could use a defensive forward.

I think teams have their own roster protection concerns and are not there licking their chops waiting for Vancouver to put players on Waivers

Raffl - Lehtera - Weal

Gaunce would be OK as a 13th forward since the top 9 forwards aren't great defensively outside of Coots and Laughton.

He's similar to Raffl. Raffl was a punching bag for jokes too since he went pointless for 41 straight games but Hakstol still kept playing him since he's good defensively and can PK.

Would I actually hold out some kind of hope for Hextall to claim him? Hell no.

team is already overloaded with bottom 6 players, I don't think bring in another one is going to be realistic unless it's a player the team sees top 6 upside in, a Leipsic type.
