If they can replace the points they lost by comity, that still only makes them a bottom seven team, they need more than that. They're just not there yet, and that's ok.

It'll be more entertaining even with a bottom three finish.

goals not points

3 more goals for a lousy team is bottom 5.
150 points don’t disappear

Ya. It's not a big deal, it's just don't put lipstick on a pig. Were a bottom feeder again this year, which is fine. Next year will be very interesting with Hughes and possibly another top5 pick in the lineup, along with more kids hopefully. That's when I could see some traction. Were a year away still.

If Pettersson has a great year, then ya, it will. If he's the only one who makes it but has a so-so year, then it's essentially only Boeser and Horvat to entertain you with offence.

Yes, what the hell happened? Have a nondescript conversation on here, turned away for a few minutes and BAM... four pages of snarky posts.

Moods change in here like the weather does in Alberta.

I think we've got a bit more balance... but yeah rebuilding/developing takes time unfortunately. Oilers will make the playoffs this year, book it.

At least a year away. We should start gaining a bit of traction late this season and next. I still think we are bottom 10 over the next 2 seasons.
We will get there eventually.

Yeah it would be great to have Gaudette and OJ playing a regular shift by the end of the season.

Ya, I don't think playoffs next year or anything. I just mean a team that is actually noticeably improving.

Sedins/Vanek 54 PP points 13 goals
Bo & Brock 10 g each Sven 7g = 27g

The rest of the team 13g

92 5v5 pts not much to replace

Sedins/Vanek’s 25% of ALL PP goals is not difficult to replace at all. Just the PP time others will get for a change is great.
Our PP was 9oa.

I see Gaudette on opening night roster and Juolevi on roster after a 10 game stint in AHL.

That left side is pretty full, Juolevi is in tough to make opening night.

I'm sure it will stay 9th without the two first ballot HOFer's who anchored that power play. It's all easily replaced, what's 150 points in the NHL anyway. Im convinced!

Hutton will be on a very short leash, if he makes the team.

If he doesn't make the team dump his ass.
