I wonder if they'll get desperate if injuries mount? Another lost season early on will be hard on ticket sales.

This teams management is hard on ticket sales.

Last year was a garbage team . I would rank it as one of the worst teams of the decade. Old slow guys , soft no push back , brutal goal tending, and a non scoring D that could not stay healthy.

Seriously it was a crap team

I wonder how long it will take the coaching staff to adjust to having to
coach 17 extra minutes a night? I don't think the twins were given a playbook with set plays to follow. Coaches probably sent them out and let them do their thing.

Now, I don't think they will give the same freedom to our new top line. It will be interesting to watch the staff adjust to a new reality.

I personally think it is overblown

Dorsett retired and replaced by Roussel

Schaller replaced the fourth line guy Dowd who sucked

Sutter replaced Henrik who retired

Beagle replaced Sutters spot.

Bo EP and Brock

The rest are up for grabs . Go win a spot

- VANTEL

Um.... I agree with all but the bold. I don't see how Sutter replaces hank, sutter already played 2lc minutes. He'll get better zone starts but hasn't shown that improved his offensive output.

He seemed to be doing better at the beginning of the year when they played 7 minutes . Guess we will find out in three weeks

I don't think we'll really know this team until Christmas. By then we'll have a pretty good idea of what we are dealing with.

Regardless of standings, I hope we see some personal bests and maybe a trophy run (or at least in contention).

I think you will see improvement just for the fact of how horrible last years team was. It will be better defensively and we will now have a team that is fast enough to get back in their own end .

They will also be the team that hits instead of getting speed bagged by other teams.

Again the sheer fact of how bad last years team was there is only one direction to go.

Maybe this year ASL will be able to stay awake for full games.

When torts stated that the team was stale I think he wasn't just referring to the players only. I think the playbook was stale as well. For 12 out of 17 years the canucks have only been coaching 75% of the team, or at least the playbook has only applied to 75% of the team. Coaching complacency has to set in after such a long time.

This year will be another transition year not just for the players. that's why I think we may be in for a bumpy ride.

Goddamn right the playbook was stale. You wanted to shut down the Canucks go stand by the Sedin without the puck

Now if you want to shut down the Canucks just rub out Goldy and EP on the boards.
