I like this one too. Where the Fan got so mad he thought it was a good idea to fight a pro athlete.

I recall very well that unfortunate Domi incident in that Leafs win over the Flyers, & in part because it occurred on the same date Radek Dvorak scored 4 goals in a Rangers win against Rick DiPietro & the Isles at the Nassau Coliseum near the end of the 2000/01 regular season. He tallied a hat trick in about the last 10 minutes of the 2nd Period, before adding a 3rd Period empty netter for his 4th goal, and 29th of 31 in total scored that season.
A good trivia question would be "Who was in goal that game for the Rangers?" (The answer to follow in the final paragraph here.)
Both the Rangers and Isles were horrible that season, with the Rangers in the midst of a 7 year playoff appearance drought, despite Richter and Leetch still around, plus Graves in his final Rangers season, & Messier having returned for his second Rangers stint. The Isles did have a Zdeno Chara, but also had the infamous, Roman Hmrlik on defense.
Trivia answer: The Rangers winning goalie that game was Guy Hebert, who was claimed on waivers from Anaheim for the final month of that season, after Richter had suffered another knee injury. That, prior to suffering his following two seasons' concussions, first late the next season off Atlanta Thrashers', Chris Tamer's long shot striking above his ear. Then his early 2002/03 career ending one, when accidentally kneed in the head by the Oilers', Todd Marchant.

Richter getting hit with Tamer's shot is burned into my mind. Sad day - disorca
I was at that game, very late 2001-02 season, already a poop season & we were eliminated I think officially that night from the playoffs. Islanders got the last spot and had that classic series w Toronto.
Me & my brother noticed Richter acted funny and left during warm ups after taking a shot to the head. Then a min into the game again got hit in the mask w a shot. Ramsay worked him over during a break and like 10 seconds later Tamer let a laser rip from the red line and Richter didn't even react, I think he was concussed already and should not have been in that game still. We thought he was out cold from the seats, was terrible. Basically that was the end for him. Played those couple games early 2002-03 but got hit in the head by Marchant again and it was over.

That same game vs the Thrashers saw a line brawl w Lindros destroying a small guy and Barnaby and Bure were the other wingers. Also Malakhov went nuts and beat the crap out of someone who was a tough guy. He could really fight when he wanted to which wasn't often.
