Lol. I think he was straight up in love with Suzuki. As someone that commented on that article defending the pick. I originally thought it was satire(a thing they did that summer) until he went on the rant about his lord and savior Suzuki and how he was going to jump off the bridge because of his perceived value of the two players.

Also, it’s obvious you don’t know much about the Canes spec system. I’d have Fox (easily), Kuokkanen, and Wallmark all above Saarela. Don’t get me wrong he’s a good prospect, but doesn’t stand out as much in CAR’s crazy deep pool.

I think Saarela is better than you give him credit for.

53 points in 73 AHL games is pretty good, and his ppg this past year is .01 less than Foegele. Wallmark is fine, but I didn't really like what I saw of him at the NHL level. I don't think he has the speed to compete as a C at that level, not to mention that he's a year and a half older than Saarela.

Kuokkanen I agree with, though.

Fox may never play a game as a Hurricane anyway.

No doubt Svechnikov is going to great but I think a big surprise could be V. Zykov who could just grab a top six role if he has a great camp. I think he is ready and his 10 game stint last spring indicates he may have arrived. Hope so, really like him and his personality is awesome. You tube some of his interviews and you can not help but like the kid and wish him well.
