Isn't he listed as a LB? I know he can play on the D line, but I thought he was a LB.

when the broncos paid von miller, they had cap issues the last few years

I am not arguing that side, just read most people call him a D line man, not a LB. But the extra value here would be that he could show Edmunds how to be a stud too.

Not sure it would be a "home town discount" but his brother plays at UB so that would be really cool for him I am sure.

He's from Florida.

He spent 5 years here(red shirted in '09). I don't know if that constitutes "home town".

Yes I was just using the term. I did not know but did not think he was from Buffalo.

Either way, I doubt he signs for (much) less here than anywhere just pointing out he was here a couple weeks ago for his brother, so that could be cool for him.

I guess he is a listed as a D line man online so maybe I am just way off base, I just know he owned us the couple times he played us (Minus the non help Tyrod up 15 yard penalty that cost them the game).

And clearly I’m not talking about the writer’s definition
I’m talking about guys that won’t be on our roster this year

- jdfitz77

Cool.
But we're all talking about the article this guy wrote.

He's a Brian Orakpo type, plays both. He was drafted as a LB 100%.

Thank you. Yes I was noticing that, I just thought he was an LB when drafted, that was my mistake. OK, so a DE. Now trade peanuts for him (dreaming, haha)

OLB on a 3/4

DE on a 4/3?

just a guess

Not even that, sometimes on passing downs in 4-3 they'll put a guy like that down low, but as a LB to get a mismatch. He's essentially a 5th lineman, but doesn't have the same responsibilities as a DL.

Yeah, a bit of a tweener, smallish DE size, 6'3" ~250lbs. Would rarely, if at all, play down on running plays.

Suggs is used the same way. Jerry Hughes too, obviously Hughes isn't the talent of Suggs or Mack, but it's the same scheme LB number, but does play with his hand in the dirt sometimes too.

by Jeff Wozer, Buffalo Sports Page Humorist

The Sabres are set to start training camp in a few weeks. One big offseason situation has not been addressed: A new contract for restricted free agent Sam Reinhart.

Sports humorist Jeff Wozer has discovered some of the reasons why the negotiations have stalled.

• Tuesday night games conflict with his Transit Lanes bowling league.

• Terry and Kim Pegula too distracted with securing a minor league affiliate for the Buffalo Beauts – the Rochester Cutes.

• After every home game Reinhart tired of having “Sabre Dance” stuck in his head.

• Sabres won’t budge on signing bonus offer of a $50 Applebee’s gift card.

• Reinhart keeps sabotaging negotiations by asking himself, “What would Dez Bryant do?”

• For the team’s next parents trip Sabres won’t allow him to instead take his imaginary friend Larry.

• Reinhart angry Canalside is building a Children’s Museum rather than a Hooters.

• The Sabres $30-million incentive offer if he wins the Vezina Trophy.

• Reinhart can’t get his attorney, Michael Cohen, to return his calls.

• Reinhart miffed that Bud Bailey never considered him in his “Buffalo Sports by the Numbers” piece for jersey #23.

If you don't want to count our top prospects, but count everyone else's top prospects, then we rank poorly.
- Lunaion

I would take out anyone expected to make a team’s roster this year

I realize that’s not what these writers are doing
Just doesn’t make sense to me

Maybe they should just wait till December to do these lists?

show me a team that won a super bowl that 20 mil for a d lineman
- homiedclown

You can play that game at EVERY POSITION
*even QB

Rodgers just got 34mil per, right?
U can’t even show me a QB with a Cap number of $25mil who’s won a Super Bowl

So was that a bad move by GB?

Sabres' Bogosian is 100 percent to start the season

per wgr

- homiedclown

For how long though....?

*Sbroads, u were right about this guy

I still think Bogo has talent enough to be a good 2nd pair guy,
but he’s just always hurt (or playing hurt)

Just depends on the defense
Mack is a DE in a 4-3,
or a pass rushing LB (essentially the 4th lineman) in a 3-4

Either way,
he’s rushing the passer almost every pass play

McKinnon has done nothing when given a chance to be full time rb, he has competition behind him

chucky loves lynch

I expect similar numbers for both, more td's for lynch
