The flames pick I get, but Edmonton is the same team, still without Sekera

Yeah, well they also signed Upshall and Garrison to PTO’s.

Toughest division in hockey? Seriously now I know for fact he makes up things to fit into a blog. Pacific would be the weakest, possibly better than the Atlantic division.

The Pacific division is not the toughest division in hockey, that's for sure. And Edmonton isn't winning that division regardless of McDavid... that D

Based on the grammar, and what he just said he thinks will happen, I am 99% certain Tanner is completely drunk or high right now.

If i had to pick 3 teams I would say Ducks, Flames and Sharks makes it one way or another. The rest is a crapshoot.

Those three teams are just as much of a crapshoot as picking any other three of the teams.

That's insane. Other divisions have better teams, but the Pacific has seven more or less equal teams, all of which are playoff threats. I guess if you massively underrate PHX EDM and CGY

I turned parity into a verb. That's not bad grammar, it's genius. I make words up pretty much every day. I am definitely not drunk though.

Phoenix, Vancouver and Edmonton are bottom NHL teams, only division with more is the Atlantic with Ottawa, Montreal, Detroit and Buffalo.

No, they were but they aren't now. Classic mistake - everyone assumes last year's standings will repeat, they forget that the NHL is crazy random and that other the top and bottom few teams, most teams are the same.

Speaking of classic mistakes, thinking a team with the best player automatically makes them one of the top teams. This isn't the NBA.

Thinking teams will magically transform in 1 offseason barely happens. Yes, some teams have bad seasons due to injury to key players or multiple other reasons, but these teams are not good no matter how much you wish them to be. There is no evidence to support other than guessing.

Exactly, they were the same team last year as the team the previous year that made the playoffs too. Edmonton isnt as bad as they played last season. Talbot had a rough year. He only started to play like himself after it was too late

Oilers were 14th in CF%
5th in shots for
3rd in scoring chances

23rd in save percentage

and 22nd in PDO.

They are a perfectly fine team who's core players are still getting better. No one thinks they will magically transform, but they are closer to being the team everyone predicted at the start of last season than they are to the team they ended up being last year.

The Met has the last 3 cup winners and both the Met and Central sent 5 teams to the playoffs... But the Pacific is the best, when last year it was arguably the easiest? Yeah... No...

Who was the 5th Central team in the playoffs? Knights, Ducks, Sharks and Kings all made the playoffs last year. And just FYI the cup challengers the last 2 out of three years were Pacific Division teams. I’m not saying it’s the best, but the Pacific Division is not weak by any means.

James I'm recommending a 5150 hold for you as you're clearly dangerous to yourself and others. I know Ducks are not cup favorites... But last in the division ?? You have gone completely off the rails on this one. Even better the Pacific as the best division in hockey... What league ?? the AHL perhaps... Certainly not the NHL

Oh god Tanner... delusional or what.

1. Metro
2. Central
3. Pacific
4. Atlantic

And Atlantic will eventually pass the Pacific with all the high draft picks low ranked teams will be getting for the next few years.

I think you're underestimating how good Minny, Colorado, St. Louis and Dallas are, they had 101, 95 , 94 & 92 point respectively. Yeah Minnesota seems they can never get over the hump but Colorado should be slightly better and St. Louis should be a lot better. Dallas had 42 wins last year, still a one line team but neither terrible or really good.

Hey James are you ever going to get your Coyotes blogs posted in the proper section on this site? Seems like kind of a Richard move to keep posting them in the Capitals section.

No, they aren’t.

They are a bad team with a generational player, and a few other really good ones.

Their depth is awful, and they are basically the Sabres of last year with better star power
