it'S tricky here after JT lost.. what do you give for Panarin ? maybe Wahlstrom or Bellows + 1st rounder ? that 1st rounder can be really good but, maybe they can put a lottery protect on it ? big price to pay for a coming UFA player no ? i think they have to stay away from him

Ho-Sang under Torts would be interesting.
- NewfieStud

they already picked up Duclair, I don't think they'd risk giving Torts too many guys who don't believe in back checking.

even 1 guy is already pushing it.

Interesting dilemma for Lou, to trade or not to trade? Isles are in a rebuild aren't they - a very quick 1 at that with the talent they have ready to go thanks to Garth. Spending talent on a player that will help the franchise? Interesting. Comes back to what Lou was brought in to do I suppose. Does management & the fans want results tout suite or can they wait a season or 2? Load up for this season & the next with picks & prospects then have a contending team possibly? Or sell a couple of those assets to get a guy that's really really (frank)ing good now?

Does Panarin want to extend on the Isle? I think he wants to win doesn't he? Might be a small issue there.

Despite the snake walking and going to Toronto, the Isles are not exactly devoid of high end talent. The team can still score goals with Barzal, Lee, Eberle. We know they have issues on there blue line and goaltending is a ?? but to call them a full lottery rebuild team is a stretch. You would have to think Trotz alone will have the team play a better structured game in its own zone. Are they a full blown no doubts about it playoff team, absolutely not, but i think they can at least be in the conversation for most of the season.

Having a great coach and solid GM goes a long way. Plus all the talent on the team. As long as the goalchie situation holds up, should be good.

JT is a snake. Lead the team on at the trade deadline that he was committed to sign in the off-season, then stabs them in the parking lot. Metaphorically speaking. Don't like that guy at all.

He's not the first. Parise and Kovy screwed the Devils pretty much the same way. Although in hindsight, the Devils were blessed when Parise left.

No I didn't. I thought all hockey players played the same position. I didn't even know there was an actual position called a goalie who rarely left the front of the net. I can't believe I have been following this sport since the mid 80's and know nothing about it.
- Itsjustarash

well that makes sense then, thanks. For a second I thought you were comparing a winger and a center as if all was equal.

Boy would my face have been red.

I'm sure if JT signed in Vancouver you'd be the first to buy the jersey pal...

NYI should have traded him if they made zero progress in extending him.
GM's trade players without thinking of the player and his future, just whats best for the team- the player moves somewhere else and he's Judas.. gimme a break.
