We look fine. I get it some dislike JB but i find it overblown. Ice good talent & place a coach to make it happen is job 1. Until we are positioned for a major trade i’m not concerned. Upper management can be dealt with at anytime. We are only just beginning to see the light at end of the tunnel.

JB would be fine if he just stopped talking pubically and stayed out of pro scouting.

Actually, the Canucks should stay out of pro scouting all together. Not their thing.

Things the Canucks are bad at:

1. Drafting
2. Pro scouting
3. Public statements
4. Jersey design and selection

Things the Canucks are good at:

1. Hotdog development

I was in the Leafs thread stirring it up a few days ago, was thinking you should've been there to back me up

Now that we have a respectable prospect pool I can start trolling with confidence. It’s hard to troll if your own team is a big pile of poo.

I’ve taken heat for saying this in the past but I like the Canucks history of developing players. When they have made a good draft selection they usually turn that player into a decent NHLer.

Lots of examples so I’d say stick with drafting and development approach.

I agree but we’ve had so few & now we are in a unique position we’ve never known. It always comes back to D imo. Need to draft more & C as well. This is when i agree with BPA. Wingers only if in a class of their own.

Agree....I was telling them it's a hard pill to swallow now that they're good for the second time in 51 years, lol, well that started it off nicely

I think he sucked. He did years of damage . We are still paying for some of his mistakes (Gaunce )

Honestly I think he was one of Canucks worst GMs

that's the cost of getting lower cap hits, without those ntc's, this team doesn't get to game 7 of the scf

i went from being a big fan of gillis' during his first few years to being ready for change when he got fired. i had high hopes for a new, more balanced front office

benning/fenton/mcnabb as the scouting type

gilman as the numbers guy

but that didn't really work out as gilman was shown the door lol and Benning's NHL scouting is questionable to say the least....

- Nucker101

You lost your marbles and left after Giles got fired and benning traded Kesler.

Lol. I bet it did.

I like the leafs threads because they always engage and loads of traffic.

Now you’ve got the troll in me excited. Thought for sure that part of me was dead.
Thanks!

Peter Tessier at hockeybuzz hotstove has Canucks with worst goaltending in the nhl...hard to disagree.

Left a comment. I like our goaltending for that very reason.

I’d like to see lots of Canuck goals this coming season but still end up with a high percentage lottery pick.

Still a problem with the front office though. Just takes another stupid move to derail this train.

When we are hoping to be bad, poor goaltending helps the cause. It just sucks with all the early goals, taking the wind out of the sails of the players.

Stupid moves have mostly been because a lack of developed prospects.

No. I like Benning's tanking strategy, try stay somewhat competitive until TDL, then start putting all player with injuries on IR.
Eventually this will backfire, as the kids that are coming up will be better than the players being placed on IR.
