I don't see Gagner as a better fit than any of the centers. He is a guy that I would put at 4 th line center if there was an injury .

Sutter is a top two center on this team right now. He is not a well liked player by most fans but hockey people know he is a good player.

I'm with you on prefering Gagner not as a C but I think he will be getting 4th minutes with Pettersson plus PP time, at least until they see if Pettersson can handle more.

I think Sutter is really good at what he does, and the coaches are aware of it. Green already said when talking about Virtanen that he thought Roussel Sutter Virtanen would be a good fit. Sutter also said that he and Beagles role was to take hard matchups to insulate youth and offensive players.

So yes, I think Sutter will get 2nd line minutes but don't think they play him with offensive players.

I don't even know who will be on the team . Three weeks away from seeing who is who. If they keep their word and play the best then I have no problem.

I don't care about contracts or tanking. I want entertaining hockey

I like the idea of Sutter Virtanen and Roussel forming a line. I could see that line getting 45-50 goals, with all 3 getting about 17 per.
That would be some decent production from a line tasked with some tough minutes.

Yup Sutter and Dorsett looked like they were onto a very big year before DD went down. I like that Canucks now let Sutter concentrate on attacking instead of defending other teams best. That;s beagle job now .

If it was up to Canucks fans it would be Gaunce's job

You can have the old Macdonald one from victoria. We'll cut it off at the knees to make it proportional.

Don't tell lefty, only peterson is fast enough to be exciting on this team.

I think we will have a fairly fast team this year and tough . I also think the D will be a lot better even though it will be the same . If they are going to stink they won't be on the Canucks

He was having one of his best years . He could have coasted the rest of the year and still put up his best numbers. They had it going.

Sutter drive the net and Junk Yard DD cleaning up the mess

I don't mind Gaunce as a defensive player, but he is pretty redundant now with the upgrade of the players brought in for that role.
Gaunce is a good positional type defensive player, who mostly appears apprehensive, too engage in any sort of physical or offensive opportunities.

You can find 200 players like Gaunce . If he can learn to score then he is worth the print he gets

He’s cheap & hits & solid defensively.
Redundant hardly when no depth to replace him.

You can pay an extra Mil for a guy like Schaller who scored 12 goals had a few fights was responsible or you can pay 1 mil for Gaunce and his 5 goals in 3 years .

If you chose Gaunce then don't female dog about the lack of scoring and how the team sucks .

I don't get to worried about who we have on the roster, over the past few seasons. This is a team that should have been rebuilding before Benning got here.
I expect too see many changes to this roster as the team cuts bait with players that don't fit.
Let's at least hope the next couple seasons are exciting while we lose.

I put Gaunce into perspective. The female doges who whine ought to heed your advice. Gaunce isn’t why we struggle to score. As for sucking talk to the tankers who wish it.

I agree. Beagle aside I agree with most of your moves and think that we're going to be more competitive this year. Might not score as many goals but 5 on 5 we should be stiffer.

Beagle was hired to let Sutter concentrate on attack instead of defending the other teams best.

As stupid as it sounds Sutter is one of the fastest and generates shots on goal. He will be playing a different role this year and Beagle will give him that chance

I know Benning saying we are expecting the scoring from our young guys . It sounds really dumb but it is the truth. If Boeser Jake Bo EP Gaudette Granlund and Sven don't score it will be a long year.
