This might sound crazy, but I think next summer the leafs should choose between Marner and Matthews and trade one for a really good long-term d man.

They're paying JT #1C money for the next seven years (which I still think will kill them by year 5, if not 4). I know it sounds nuts, but maybe they should roll Marner at 2C and explore a Matthews trade that would give them a buttload of premium murrancy.
